Neat way to get wireless charging on the ps5 controller

Wireless charging is always so nice and convenient. It's only a matter of time until major game companies have wireless charging built into their devices but until then there are products like this that work pretty well. It's actually two separate pieces that allow the wireless charging; the charging base and the battery pack that attaches to the controller. The charging base/pad is fairly small and lightweight. Plugs in thru usb-c (need a block or some way to plug it in) and sits anywhere for easy access. I have it on the side of my desk. The battery pack connects to the usb-c port on the controller and kinda clips onto the top/back of the controller. It adds a little bit of weight but surprisingly doesn't obstruction functionality of the controller, nor inhibits comfort aside from the added weight. With the battery pack attached, you simply need to place the controller on the pad and the battery on the controller will wirelessly charge. It's a very convenient setup and works very well. Haven't had any issues with it so far.

Cheap option for wireless charging

This product "works", but it is not convenient to use. First, there is no locking or magnetic mechanism for keeping the charger in place, so you must place it perfectly in the center of the pad or it will not charge. If it's even slightly off center, it will still give the orange light signifying charging, but it will take forever to completely charge. It is also super easy to knock or slide off, since nothing holds it in place other than gravity. Perhaps my biggest complaint is the noise it makes when charging. It produces this ringing noise that sounds like a ringing in your ears, which makes it incompatible with storing anywhere near where you might game. And the noise is not subtle, it is audible from across the room. Since the product does function as described, I will give it two stars. But it is a very inconvenient product to use, and I would highly recommend selecting a more reputable option, even if you have to scale up a few dollars in price.
