I can’t believe I haven’t already left a review! Love them!

You alone will know why an open ear headset might be something you’d want. So let me just focus on the function of these. Battery life is epic. I mean all day. I use them all day a lot of the time. Comfort is excellent. As I said, sometimes I wear them all day. I barely know they are there. In fact, sometimes I forget they are there. sizing is something we need to talk about. I am 6 feet tall and have a normal sized head I suppose and the mini ones fit me perfectly. I also have short hair so keep that in mind. The reason this is important is because the standard ones might give me a little more freedom without getting tight. I really don’t care about that because the minis allow me to sit in a chair without being uncomfortable when I put my head against the pillow. They can also be used in bed. In fact, sometimes I sleep all night long with these on, and they are still there when I wake up. If you can wear the mini and have a little bit of distance between your neck and head and you don’t have to look up a lot, get the mini! Otherwise get the standard ones and be aware that you probably won’t be able to put the back of your head against anything without removing them. Yes, you can pull them down and put them around your neck and they will stay there until you are ready to put them back over your ears. The sound is excellent. Especially once you download the app and boost the base a little. That is the essential feature of these with the extra speakers. However, they work just fine without the extra speakers as long as you were fine with a little treble. Since I normally listen. to podcasts, it doesn’t matter to me. I am just listening to some person‘s voice most of the time. However, if you use them in the classic mode, which means you are just getting the bone conduction, be aware that when you turn it up to a higher volume, you may feel some buzzing on your temples. I suppose I could look up the IP rating for these. I don’t know what it is. But I’ve worn them in the rain and not had any difficulties. USB-C charging is clutch! And I saved the best for last. The microphone call quality and noise, cancellation or voice isolation is really top notch. I mean, handset quality. I really prefer using these for telephone calls over AirPod earphones. These things blocked out a crowing rooster! I mean, wow! i’ve been using them for a few months and they seem to be pretty durable. No problems. The case that they come in is very nice and they charge quickly. I really don’t have a downside for these except maybe it would be nice to have the microphone extension Like the other model. But then again, the voice quality on these is so good. I don’t think I need it and that would just be something else in the way. I got these on sale. I don’t know what they cost right now. But if it is within your budget and you are considering them, just hit the buy button because they were great.

Great Style & Comfort, but Falls Short on Sound Quality
By David W. on Reviewed in the United States on July 4, 2025
This is my first time purchasing from the Shokz brand, and what initially drew me in was the sleek style and how effortlessly they were worn. I first came across them during a training class where someone had a pair, and I was so impressed by the look that I ordered them on the spot while still in class. Initial Impressions: Upon receiving the OpenRun Pro 2, I was immediately impressed by how lightweight they were. When worn around the neck, they’re barely noticeable, which is a huge plus for comfort and convenience. Fit: 4 of 5 The OpenRun Pro 2 is designed to wrap around the ears and project sound toward your ear canal via bone conduction. While the design is comfortable, they are not adjustable. In my case, there was quite a bit of slack, and I would have preferred a more snug fit. Pairing: 5 of 5 Pairing was seamless and very user-friendly, especially through the Shokz app. I appreciated that the device automatically registered through the app, a convenient touch that saves time compared to many other devices that require separate registration. Sound Quality: 3.5 of 5 This is where my biggest disappointment lies. While I didn’t expect Bose-level performance, I did expect the volume and overall sound quality to be more robust. Even after using the app’s equalizer and enabling the "Sound Boost" option, the improvement was minimal. On a plane, I struggled to hear music over engine noise. In quieter settings like my office or a walk outside, the headphones performed adequately. For phone calls, they worked surprisingly well, everyone I spoke with could hear me clearly, and I had no issues on my end. However, for music, I wanted a more immersive experience, and unfortunately, these just didn’t deliver. I’ve tried other bone conduction brands that provided stronger sound output and clarity. Ambient Awareness: 5 of 5 This is where the OpenRun Pro 2 truly shines. While listening to music or videos in the office, I could still hear my desk phone ring and hold conversations without removing the headphones. That balance of ambient sound awareness while still enjoying content was very impressive and one of the key reasons I decided to keep them. Battery: I've only had these a few days and have not really had the opportunity to battle test the battery. However my classmate claim to have a two-day battery life using it throughout both days. I'm sure this varies based on whether you're using it for phone calls or actually using it for music or other media. Overall: I would give these a 3.5 out of 5. The style, lightweight feel, and comfort are excellent, and the ambient listening experience is one of the best I’ve tried. However, the sound quality and lack of volume, especially in noisy environments, were disappointing. In today’s age of advanced audio technology, I expected more from Shokz in this area. While I strongly considered returning them, I ultimately decided to keep them due to how well they perform in my office and for phone calls. If audio immersion is a priority, these may not meet your expectations, but for situational awareness and casual, everyday use, they do have their merits.
