Great Upgrade…I can finally swipe away alarms on my watch!
By Colleen's Critique on Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2025
I couldn’t be happier with my upgrade to the galaxy 7 watch. I loved my galaxy 4 watch and therefore struggled with my decision to replace it until I received the 7 and started to use it. I thought the 4 was just fine with one big flaw…whenever I would use my Samsung clock app to set reminders, the reminder would go off on my phone but I was not able to dismiss it on my watch. Really annoying and it just seemed like a huge oversight on Samsung to not have their watch integrate with their clock app. I set a lot of reminders for everything, so this was a annoyance at least six times a day. Much to my delight the first time one of my reminders went off after putting on my watch I was able to swipe away the reminder that was ringing on my phone in another room! Other things I really like about it are the sleep apnea test, and just the overall smoothness of swiping between screens in the responsiveness of the screen even with a screen protector on it I’m sure there are lots of other things. I would begin to appreciate, but about the upgrade, but for now, the alarm integration was worth the price. Love that it was available for a big discount due to the expected release of the Galaxy 8 watch.

Absolutely horrid out of box experience
By bmoag on Reviewed in the United States on June 17, 2025
For an objective review do a web search on "Galaxy watch 7 will not maintain Bluetooth connection with phone" and "Galaxy 7 battery life." It seems that much, if not most, of the time the initial setup does not take. It is up to the user whether to search the web, given the status of Samsung non-support, to find suggestions to reboot phone and watch, delete all the phone software just installed as well as reset the watch to the factory settings it was supposed to have when it came out of the sealed box, and then repeat it all. If lucky that will work, if not try again. Or not. Honestly, after spending hours to finally get the thing to seem to basically work, not sure if its getting my text messages, I'm on the fence about whether to keep or return it. If you run into problems with the initial setup it might be wisest just to return the watch. I admit my lack of inherent fondness for all things Samsung stems from two utter disaster Galaxy phones, overheating and could not reliably receive or make phone calls, which Samsung warranty repair said were perfectly fine. As to battery life, that seems to be a lottery with winners getting over 24 hours and many losers getting much less. This watch was ordered to replace a Galaxy Watch 3 with a dying battery that I could not find anyone local to replace, even Samsung said no. Its the most, perhaps only, reliable Samsung anything I ever owned. My initial impression is that the GW7 is thinner and lighter but doesn't effectively do anything much different than the older model. So if you can get the GW7 to work for you with your Android phone its OK at the sale price, nothing better than utilitarian. I'm not sure its even worth the sale price, but that's a caveat empty kind of thing.
