Una potencia de controlador (Review ES - US)
By John Arbelaez on Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2025
In terms of comfort, the controller is ergonomically comfortable, however, it can feel a bit small, it's just a matter of getting used to it. However, once you get over that hurdle, the controller feels completely natural in the hands. With the joysticks the feel is good and they work well, it has the right amount of resistance to provide excellent control in first person shooter games, but I found the 'clicks' on both to be a little stiff for my liking. They feel a bit clunky when pressing, it may just be a matter of 'getting used to it' over time. You can connect the controller via the dock to your PC or console, and let it handle both charging and wireless, or you can take the 2.4Ghz USB dongle out of the dock and plug it in separately. However, leaving the dock plugged in may be more convenient, as it also turns the controller on and off, providing a seamless experience when using the device. The Bluetooth connection works well, the connection is easy and simple as well as providing good latency when playing. The 8Bitdo Ultimate software is lightweight, resource friendly and does not need to be run in the background (or even installed), as it stores all settings as a profile on the controller itself. Conclusion: Buying it is a great option, the best value for money on the market, in addition to the multiple usage options.

Potential Trigger Vibration Issue
By Shawna on Reviewed in the United States on July 13, 2024
TLDR: Trigger Vibration does not act like Xbox controllers when using on PC, deal breaker if you need it for racing games like Forza. Otherwise, great controller. Update!!! 8bitdo Support asked me to update the Firmware again and then recommended I request a replacement after that didn't work. Got the replacement, updated the firmware and tried it out both wired and wireless, and the trigger vibration still doesn't perform the way it should. I noticed in the Ultimate Software when testing trigger vibration that holding the right trigger would have it vibrate for a long period before it stops, while the left one would stop vibrating after about 2 seconds, and then the timing would shorten and shorten unless I let it sit for a few seconds. I wonder if the vibration motors are overheating or something. Either way, returning replacement and getting my money back. I own multiple 8bitdo controllers at this point and love their products. I have the Pro 2, the black Ultimate Bluetooth for my Switch, and the purple Ultimate 2.4G for PC, so there wasn't much of a reason to get another version of the Ultimate. That was until they announced that the Xbox controllers have trigger vibration, which is a feature that is incredibly important to me. I play a lot of Forza Motorsport on my laptop and I play with ABS off. If the brakes lock up when braking hard, the official Xbox controller's trigger vibration would come on and let me know to apply less pressure, and I could use this to adjust braking mid-corner. I can't play without this feature, so my only options until now was an official controller, which suffer from stick snapback, or the FlyDigi Vader 3 Pro, which is my current daily driver when playing Forza. When I found out this controller offered trigger vibration, I was super excited and decided to get one when the money was available. Opening the box, the controller was beautiful and had a nice weight thanks to the trigger motors, and the provided cable was a solid 10 feet which was a nice inclusion for the people that will be playing on Xbox consoles. After a full battery charge, I installed the version of the Ultimate Software exclusively for the Xbox controllers, and updated the firmware to the most recent version. When booting up Forza and hitting the track, I noticed that the trigger vibration would come on when I would start locking up the brakes, but if I reduced trigger input and then applied more to adjust my steering angle, the trigger wouldn't vibrate even at full brake lock. I have no idea if this is part of the design of the controller and isn't meant to be truly simulating the Xbox's trigger vibration, or if my controller is just faulty out of the box. I have tried it both plugged in and wireless, and the mode doesn't appear to change how it functions. I have emailed 8bitdo Customer Support and hope to get answers, and I will update this review accordingly. Other than the trigger vibration, the new Dpad and bumpers feel very nice over the older models, but I haven't given them a full test to see how they actually read inputs. If you don't have a version of the Ultimate or play exclusively on Xbox and don't need the trigger vibration, I can highly recommend this controller if you don't mind being hardwired to your Xbox or not having Bluetooth for PC connection. For me, the triggers are a deal breaker. I will be returning the controller unless 8bitdo support has some form of fix that I can do myself. I will be returning to my Vader 3 Pro for the time being. Thanks for reading all the way through if you did, and sorry for the rambling.
