Open Ear Headphones, Open Ear Earbuds, IPX7 Waterproof, Bluetooth 5.3 True Wireless
By Dan on Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2024
Here’s a detailed look at the Open Ear Headphones, highlighting how they perform in comfort, functionality, sound quality, and suitability for workouts and outdoor activities. Key Features and Performance: - Open-Ear Design: Designed to rest outside your ear canal, these headphones help reduce ear fatigue and the chance of infections—a plus for anyone who uses earbuds for long periods. The soft earhooks keep the buds secure even during intense activities, and the open-ear design allows awareness of surroundings, which adds a layer of safety for outdoor running or cycling. - IPX7 Waterproofing: With an IPX7 rating, these earbuds are resistant to water and sweat, making them suitable for workouts in any weather condition. They should handle rain and sweat effectively, but keep in mind that IPX7 means they’re waterproof but not fully dustproof. - Bluetooth 5.3 Connectivity: The Bluetooth 5.3 chipset offers a stable and fast connection, minimizing audio lag and ensuring consistent quality. This is particularly beneficial for workouts where you may be moving frequently, as the connection stays strong without dropouts. - Audio Quality: With 16.2mm dynamic drivers, these headphones deliver a surprising level of bass and clarity for an open-ear design. The DT 6.0 sound transmission technology helps limit sound leakage, so your music isn’t overly audible to those around you. While bass is powerful, the overall sound experience still allows ambient noise to come through due to the open design. - Battery Life: The earbuds deliver up to 8 hours of playtime for music and 9 hours for calls on a single charge, with the charging case extending total usage to 36 hours. This makes them highly practical for travel or long workout sessions without frequent charging. - Noise Cancellation for Calls: These earbuds come with dual-mic noise cancellation, which reduces background noise for clearer calls—a helpful feature if you take calls in busy environments. The physical button controls, as opposed to touch sensors, provide tactile feedback, allowing easy navigation of functions like call answering and volume adjustment. Pros: - Comfortable open-ear design with secure earhooks, great for long use without ear fatigue. - IPX7 waterproof rating makes them reliable for intense workouts or outdoor use in varied weather. - Stable Bluetooth 5.3 connection offers low latency and minimal interruptions. - Strong battery life with 36 hours total, ideal for users who need extended playtime. - Dual-mic noise cancelling improves call quality in noisy areas. Cons: - Not entirely immersive sound, as ambient noise will still be present. - Physical buttons might take getting used to if you prefer touch controls. Final Verdict: These Open Ear Headphones are an excellent choice for fitness enthusiasts and active individuals who value comfort, safety, and durability. The open-ear design and secure earhooks make them a comfortable and stable fit during vigorous activities, while the IPX7 waterproof rating ensures they’ll withstand sweat and weather. Though they don’t provide the fully immersive sound that in-ear models offer, they make up for it with excellent usability, great battery life, and solid call quality. They’re best suited for those who need music or calls on the go but still want to remain aware of their surroundings.

Very happy with them

I've tried a lot of sports earbuds/headphones but they all either crap out after a while, fall out of the ears, or are not comfy. These so far have been great, very comfortable, great sound, and reliable. Note: I had a problem with the first set but their customer service took care of it, thanks! Edit: The second ones they sent worked for a while but they keep turning on and off when I sweat in the heat. Maybe ok if there's no moisture or in cold weather.
