Sound is TERRIBLE

Sound is literally terrible. Worst walkie talkie I have ever used. Specifically even within a 1/2 mile range with volume turned up to high on both units, the sound is barely audible. I had to hold the unit up to my ear to hear the other person's faint transmission. Then when they stopped talking the end of transmission "beep" was so loud and piercing it would make my ears ring. That beep can only be turned on and off, not set lower. Serves me right for buying something made by a optics company. Will go back to Motorola.
