Great power bank (with a couple of notes)
By Boy Mom of 2 on Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2025
I bought this unit over a week ago and it is the second Mophie we've owned. We decided on the Mophie brand because the last one worked for over 11 years! This Mophie Power Bank XL is slightly larger and heavier then some competitors but is easily stored in any backpack or small bag. It also packs a punch! As advertised, it does provide 50% charge in about 30 minutes. I fully charged the power bank just once and I have gotten multiple devices (iPhone & tablets) charged and the bank is still around 50% capacity. This includes fully charging my iPhone 3 times when it was under 30%. I also had no problem charging two tablets (both about 85%) and my iPhone (about 70%) simultaneously with no issues. All three were fully charged in under an hour. The only thing I would recommend, and it should be explained in the instructions, is the initial charge for the power bank may take a few days. Apparently it has a safety feature where all 4 lights will blink until it hits a certain level. In smaller wall adapters (5w-10w) this will take a lllllloooooonnnnggggg time (days)before first use. I would recommend buying a good 20w adapter to charge the powebank. This seemed to solve the problem for me. Despite the challenges with initial charge & the size, it is a great value and should provide more than enough back up for anyone.

Long Term Reliability Concerns
By COlife on Reviewed in the United States on December 31, 2023
I purchased this a little over a year ago. During that year the power bank has performed consistently well and has been a reliable power source. It is a little heavy, but I’ve used it on several trips and expected to be able to use it for at least 3-4 more years. That was until I went on a trip and the battery slid off onto the ground and fell about a foot onto carpet (which I would have expected everything to be fine given my prior experience). The power button after that point would not turn on and the indicator lights didn’t work. Given that it was advertised as able to handle rough travel, I went ahead and submitted a warranty claim as it was a similar hight to falling in my bag or around a plane seat and was within the two year warranty. It took about 15 minutes and a replacement was processed through their automated return process with me paying $10 for shipping. While I’m glad I received a replacement, I ended up spending about a fourth of the cost on getting a new one plus time to return the original without any choice for return carrier. I understand them wanting to reduce fake returns, but based on how automated things are, it seems like this happens often. Given the higher cost of this battery to start and with them still charging the shipping for a replacement, when I do need to replace this I will consider getting a different battery given I likely now expect to receive about a year more of usage. Otherwise I will at least buy the extra insurance expecting it to break again.
