From setup to shooting, this gimbal simplifies the whole process. Even if you’re a newbie, you’ll be capturing smooth, professional-grade footage in no time. The app that comes with it is nothing short of amazing. It’s user-friendly and flawlessly integrated with the gimbal. The range of settings and creative abilities it offers is mind-boggling. You can experiment and create stunning shots that will leave your audience in awe. One of the standout features is its lightweight design, making it incredibly portable and easy to carry. I wanted to like it, but it's too fiddly to use for me
By MadPB on Reviewed in the United States on February 2, 2025
I liked the idea of this, a way to stabilize the camera, have it track you around, act as a tripod, etc. And all the video reviews I saw made it seem like it's easy to use. In reality I found it to be way too awkward and fiddly. Half the time it would complain that it wasn't attached correctly even though I swear the magnet mount was properly lined up. Shifting it a nanometer would make it happy. C'mon... As far as gimbaling goes, the hardware is okay I guess, besides the finicky mount. The clamp on my phone (either a Galaxy S10 or S23) is also okay except it always wants to hit either the stupid Bixby button or volume buttons, so that's not happy. It also mostly covers the power button on the other side so good luck trying to hit the power button to turn on/off once the clamp is on. The software is where I get major negative vibes. First, you have to sideload the Android app, it's not on the Google Play store. And this is DJI, remember, so are we installing some Chinese spyware? Very probably. You're then forced to use this app for taking the photos and videos instead of the far superior Samsung (or whatever) app the phone comes with. That's probably by necessity because it needs to not only handle taking the actual photos/videos, but also handle the gimbaling features so that integration must be needed. I'll confess it all makes me pretty wary though. Using the app is also very clunky. About 50% of the time it wouldn't connect to the gimbal over bluetooth automatically so I'd have to try again and force it to connect, so it's just funky. Using the various modes... I mean, it's okay, but it seems way too complicated to do even simple things like take a picture, or do a timer countdown, etc. I found myself using it as a dumb tripod sometimes and using the native photo app in many cases. The hardware buttons on the gimbal let you do a lot of things, but there's a steep'ish learning curve. I watched the tutorials and walked through stuff, but when I found myself out actually using it the first time, all that went away and I couldn't remember how to use the buttons to do basically anything (switch between portrait/landscape, photo or video, etc). And by this time I've simply lost interest in the whole thing. It all seemed like a fun and useful tool, but the implementation and probably spyware in this are just bad enough that I wish I hadn't bought this thing. 2 stars just because if you put in the time and effort to learn how to use it, I guess it'd be okay. But no more than that because this is DJI after all and they're probably stealing your data, and the quality of the photos/videos didn't seem as good as the native photo app.
