You can use the front power socket or the rear. I used the rear so I could use the front for usb chargers (the usb chargers in the console are only .4amp - so phones hardly charge if you are using the gps).If you have a flat rear window then you need a rear camera that mounts like this one! I have the sliding rear window - and this mounted up high on the side it moves away from.

Once I had this dash cam hardwired into my car, it will still refuse to be put into Accessory Mode. I tried emailing but got no response. I’m also not sure how to default the screen to show the front and rear cam at the same time.
