Sounds good when it works

We have a Vizio tv and I wanted to add a soundbar so we could actually hear the tv. I figured going another Vizio product should give me the most compatibility and least amount of issues. So far that has not been true. Set up was easy using the eArc connection. The subwoofer connected as soon as I plugged it in. Everything seemed fine. I went into my tv settings and turned off the tv speakers to avoid any garbling of the sound. The next time I turned on the tv there was a message at the top saying that the soundbar had been recognized and functioning, except there was no sound. I turned off the soundbar and turned it back on and I had sound, this time. The next time it functioned normally. The next time it didn’t come on, but this time turning it off and back on didn’t solve the problem. I tried resetting the input to HDMI-Arc but that didn’t help. I finally gave up and turned the tv speakers back on. It seemed to be giving me sounds from both devices but half the time I don’t think the bass is working, because when it is you know it even at low volume. This may end up being a return if the frustration continues.
