Comfortable and good sound quality

Over the years, I have purchased several inexpensive headphones for gaming with my xbox consoles. The phones that come with the console are terrible and have zero noise cancellation. The other budget headphones I have purchased have not held up very well. They developed static at the jack with loose wiring or the coating or the ear cups would disintegrate and flake off. Based on a personal recommendation and online reviews, I decided to step it up a bit and buy the Razor BlackShark V2. So far, I am pleased with the performance of these phones. First and foremost, they are comfortable. The ear cups are soft and flexible and don't appear to have a coating that will easily disintegrate over time. Although they are light, the phones appear to be well made. I am using these on the xbox series x/s without any additional apps such as THX or DTS and find the in-game sound quality to be very good. Volume levels are acceptable and my teammates have no trouble hearing me. The volume and mute controls are on the left ear cup and both are easily accessible. I have accidentally pressed the mute button when putting these on but that was my mistake and not an issue I see as a design fault. I am using these wired to the controller and I have not tried the included USB connector so I can't attest to it's performance. Overall, I am pleased with the performance of these phones and I am optimistic that these will last over time.

Decent Performance but Lacks the Wow Factor - Opted for Steelseries Instead

I purchased the Razer BlackShark V2 Gaming Headset with high hopes, given Razer's reputation in the gaming community. Unfortunately, both I and my child were left wanting more from this product, leading us to give it a 3-star rating overall. Sound Quality: The sound quality of the BlackShark V2 is decent, with clear audio and a good balance of bass. However, it doesn't quite deliver the immersive experience I was expecting from a gaming headset in this price range. When it comes to competitive gaming, where every detail matters, it just didn't meet our expectations. Comfort: The headset is relatively comfortable to wear for short periods, but we found it to be a bit tight during longer gaming sessions. My child also mentioned that it started to feel uncomfortable after a while, which was disappointing considering gaming often involves extended periods of use. Microphone Quality: The microphone performance is one of the better features of this headset, offering clear voice communication. However, this alone wasn't enough to compensate for the other areas where it fell short. Durability and Build: While the build quality seems solid, the headset doesn't feel as durable as others we've tried in the past. We were cautious with it, worrying about potential wear and tear from regular use. Overall Experience: After trying to get the most out of the Razer BlackShark V2, we ultimately decided it wasn't the right fit for us. We switched to a Steelseries headset and couldn't be happier. The difference in overall satisfaction was night and day, with the Steelseries delivering on the comfort, sound quality, and durability we were looking for. In conclusion, while the Razer BlackShark V2 might be suitable for casual gaming, it didn't live up to our expectations for serious gaming sessions. It's a decent headset, but for us, moving to Steelseries was the right decision, offering a much more enjoyable gaming experience.
