Great Cam and a Great Price! Packed with features
By Prime Risk on Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2024
We purchased the F7N Redtiger camera about 18 months ago and it has now paid for itself 100x over when it provided evidence to the police and insurance that my wife was not the one at fault in an accident that totaled her vehicle and the other party lied to the police. My wife was going to get the ticket after the officer talked to the other party first, but she was able to show the officer the cam video and they reversed course and issued the ticket to the other party. Then the other party lied to their insurance, but after providing the video to their insurance, the adjuster immediately accepted 100% responsibility. Easy to install and with clearly written English instructions. Great suction cup with integrated GPS antenna makes installation a breeze. Cam will slide off mount if you want to hide it while parked without removing the entire mount. Crystal clear video, front at 4k and back at 2k, produce high resolution video where you can read license plates and even identify who was driving another vehicle. Even more importantly, it has a good app that you can use to directly download video from the cam without pulling the card and taking it to a computer. Just in case you are in an accident, you can instantly download the relevant video to your phone and show to Law Enforcement and e-mail to your insurance company. This is hugely important so a ticket can be issued to the at-fault party on scene as my wife did. If you can't show the officer when writing the report, they may issue the ticket to the wrong party or no one if they can't figure out who was at fault. If this happens, it's a long up-hill battle to get the other party's insurance to pay out and the police will never cancel an incorrectly issued ticket, so it forces you to go to court to defend yourself. If you are in a serious accident (if anyone goes to the hospital, it's serious), the officer may confiscate the SD card or even the whole camera for evidence. You may not get it back for weeks or even months. Sometimes they get lost an then you have nothing. Have a copy safely on your phone so you can give it to your insurance company and lawyer immediately! Buy the REDTIGER F7N Dash Cam Hardwire Kit to go with it if you want 24/7 monitoring without killing your car battery. Never wonder who backed into you in a parking lot or keyed your car if it happens to you. Some things that set Redtiger apart from the others: They actually have tech support. We had an issue with one camera not liking our SD card and contacted support to see if we had a bum Cam or bad setting as the issue was intermittent. Turns out it was just a faulty card after running a write test on the computer. Not a big issue as SD cards are cheap, but good to know that if you have an issue that Redtiger does support what they sell. Software updates. We've owned the F7N for about 18 months and have received software updates to improve functionality. The cam was great when we got it and even better now with new features added. Proof in the pudding: We liked our F7N so much we just bought another Redtiger cam, a F7N Touch, for a new (to us) vehicle and it's great too. Note: I wasn't paid for this review nor given a demo unit or anything else. I'm only a satisfied customer that is enjoying the premium quality and features at a great price vs the big-name competitors and their high prices.

Tricky wifi, not meant for extreme south heat.
By Allison on Reviewed in the United States on August 2, 2025
I got this camera fall 2023. It's been 2 years since I've had it. Here is my review. Wiring: Super easy to connect. My car did not have a car adapter so I was not able to use the plug on that the dashcam came with. I had to purchase my own separately. Recording: Did a great job at recording everything clearly. I had no issues with the picture quality. Durability: It's lasted me one year and a half. But half a year ago it started breaking down. I live in South Texas where summer heat can reach up to 110°F. It's even hotter inside of a car, with temperatures reaching up to 130°F. Because of the extreme heat the dashcam FRIED! Now it will no longer record, saying that the SD card is full even though it's not. I'd have to manually format the sd card every single time it said that. I'd try my best to park my car under the shade, cover the camera with my windshield sunblockers, and it would still say that. On top of that, the suction it comes with is not useful in the extreme heat. I'd clean my windshield, clean the suction, add a drop of water, tighten the suction, and the suction would still pop off mid drive. Definitely not useful at all. I'd have to replace the suction with the adhesive instead. Connectivity: Connecting to the wifi with a smart car that has apple acr play or android auto is frustrating. You turn your car on and your phone automatically connects to your car using bluetooth. Now to connect your phone to the camera you have to connect to it's built in wifi. So you're fighting with your car, phone, and wifi all to just connect to the camera. Your phone automatically connects to the car and disconnects you from the camera. Very tricky. Customer service: Perfect!! They respond so fast! They were the ones who sent me a free adhesive to replace my failed suction.
