Die hard ipad fan. Bury me with my iPad pleas
By John T on Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2022
I purchased one of the first iPads. I think Steve Jobs might have still been alive. I LOVED THAT IPAD. I was told I was dumb because the second version would come out soon with all the crap gone and I’d wish I could get that one. WRONG! I did get the second generation and gave my blue color husband my 1st generation. It was a great way for him to learn how to use it. He still loves his iPads. It’s been a great routine and we’ve done it every since. I purchased my 12.9 iPad Pro 2021. This was my 2nd 12.9 if I remember correctly. It’s a little soon to do it again but my last iPad is giving me problems I’ve never had. After I have used my iPad long enough to get the iPad warmed up the buttons start not responding for me. Like in Amazon if I push to see a video about a product it will not show that video. I can try to start that video for an hour with no response. If I open my older iPad or one of our two iPhones the video works immediately. This happens on a very regular basis now. The iPad itself almost feels slightly bent. The iPad is so thin that this worries me. In fact when we purchased it it really did worry me so we purchased really nice and firm holders. I am so frustrated, is anyone else having my same problem? I would like to keep the system we have going. It’s to soon to get a new one, especially now that we are retired and on very fixed incomes. I will always be a die hard ipad owner. But I need one to last me longer. Any suggestions. Can iPad give me some support or credit here? Anyone that can help this old lady would be appreciated. I still think this is hands down the best tablet on the market. It would probably beat any lap top and most desk tops in my mind. This is getting bad enough I’m afraid it’s going to quit working. It’s taken care of because only I or my husband or occasionally a family adult might use it, that is rare though. Everybody knows to leave my iPad alone. One last problem. Why do the charging cables not last very long.

Great 12.9-inch iPad Pro with 1 warning
By Wayne H on Reviewed in the United States on August 1, 2024
Having used a 10 inch iPad, and iPad Air, for many years, there was a LOT to love about the 12.9 screen on the PRO wit mini-LED; 1. Its a lot bigger, so nice for viewing 2. Its a lot brighter 3. The sound seemed better 4. Battery life is excellent 5. Performance is excellent 6. Blacks, & Contrasts, are much better than my IPAD & IPAD Air (See warning below) There is a small issue, & one major issue. The unit is thin & heavy. Add a case, and its even heavier. So be aware of that, especially if you hand hold for a long time. That should be expected, so that my small issue. The biggest issue by far, and not known at the time of purchase (never disclosed by Apple) is when using this in dark locations, like reading or watching TV/Movie in bed WITHOUT LIGHTS ON. During the day things are crisp & nice, and very clear. In dark location there is "blooming" where bright white backlighting leaks out from white text (or objects) into the black areas. So; 1. During the day, a black screen with white writing (or the time, or photos etc) is clear & crisp, with good contrast. Easy to view, or read, etc 2. In the dark, the same looks awful, with a hallo around white wording the leaks into the black. Even the lock screen looks bad. For such a expensive top of the line IPAD, it was surprising to have such a visible display issue, especially given my much cheaper IPAD don't have this issue. Buy a cheaper IPAD that uses LED (not mini-leds), or if you are use to OLED TV's & love true blacks and great contrast, without a hallo effect (like my 8 year old LG OLED TV) get the new OLED versions of the iPad. Please do note though, if you are using it at night, for example in the evening, and have lights on, this isn't a noticeable issue, its in a dark room with no lighting. If using only during the day, or evening with lighting, I would have rated this 5 star. Unfortunately I use this a lot in dark locations, so given there was no disclosure of this issue by Apple, and it was promoted as their best iPad, its only 3 STAR. (Not 4 star, because my $200 iPad is better in a dark location!) If you are interested this model, and intend to use in a dark location, check photos or video reviews of this blooming issue first. (It's hard to view in retail shops or the Apple store, because they are too light)
