Great for college students who need help focusing in busy environments

I’ve been looking for a pair of noise-cancelling headphones and came across these by the recommendation of a friend. I bought these headphones for the purpsoe of studying, productivity, and traveling. I’m not super tech savvy, but I really enjoyed using it for the past few months. Perfect for maintaining focus & personal quiet time: Like I said, I’m not super tech savvy. These headphones are super easy to use. I just turn it on and I feel like I can tackle on any assignment, essay, or research project. With so many things going on at a university setting, it helps me focus on the task at hand. I think that the ANC tap feature is pretty cool. It’s really convenient when I’m at a study group. Whenever someone needs to say something to me, I just tap the sides and I can hear what they have to say without having to take off my headphones constantly. I also really like taking these headphones with me for road trips. When I’m not driving, I like to take a nap while my friend/boyfriend drives. The headphones cancel out the loud road and air vents. It makes falling asleep a lot much easier because I’m so sensitive to sound. Comfort: The memory foam padding makes it super comfy to wear even after long periods of time. Other headphones I used to wear would start hurting after 2-3 hours due to the headband and the ear cups. Most headphones tend to have smaller ear cups and it can get pretty painful if you have lots of ear piercings like me. These headphones have large ear cups and encompass my whole ear, perfect for my pierced ears. Superb Sound Quality: I like to listen to music while I study or when I go on walks. I love how dynamic it sounds, especially the bass. I’m not sure how to explain it, but the music sounds more detailed? In comparison to other headphones and earbuds I’ve tried. Podcasts also sound amazing as well. It makes voices super clear, almost as if the podcast person is in the same person as you. Long Battery life: These headphones have a surprisingly long battery life. I use the headphones for about 1-2 hours a day and I could go up to 3 weeks without needing to charge. Pairing Issues: The only issue that I’m currently having is pairing the headphones with my 2013 MacBook air via Bluetooth. Not sure if it’s a software problem or my MacBook is too old (it’s pretty ancient), but it doesn’t seem to show up on my devices. However, it’s not a big problem because I use the cable that it comes with.

Broke after five months
By Amazon Customer on Reviewed in the United States on June 19, 2023
I got this in late December, but in late May the right ear cup detached from the rest of the headphone. It's important to note that the ear cup broke off when I was trying to put it on; at no point did I put the headphones through any significant stress. What's worse was the customer service. Over the course of a month, I called and emailed Philips numerous times to try to get an answer as to whether they would repair my headphones or not. A full month later, they finally stated in a phone call that they would not fix my headphones because the damage was "physical." What a great one year warranty! For these reasons, I will not buy any products from Philips again. The quality of this product was extraordinarily low, breaking down after five months of gentle use. The customer service was even worse, wasting a good month of my life only to not help. The amount of money I spent on this was not commensurate to the amount of use I received. I wish I had spent my money on headphones from a different company. Edit: Although disappointed, I subsequently super glued the right ear cup back into place. The left ear cup subsequently was dislocated in the same way, and I super glued that one too. At the end of November, though, the plastic snapped in two. After less than a year of use, I gave up and threw these away. That the headphones suffered broke down three different times in different ways shows that the quality of these things is low. Don't buy them, and the customer service was so bad that I won't buy anything from Philips.
