Clear Calls and Comfort with Minor Mic and Dongle Tips
By Kate R. on Reviewed in the United States on July 2, 2025
The Poly Voyager headset is a fantastic choice for anyone doing sales calls or spending long hours on the phone. The sound quality is clear and crisp, which helps me stay focused and professional during every call. One of the best features is how well it filters out background noise. It blocks out distractions so well that my calls never sound like a noisy call center, even if I’m working in a busy environment. The headset is also very comfortable to wear for extended periods. I can keep it on all day without any discomfort, which makes a big difference when you have back-to-back calls. That said, there are a couple of things to watch out for. The mic connection can sometimes drop if you move around too much or don’t position it just right. It takes a little getting used to, but once you figure it out, it’s no big deal. Also, the tiny USB dongle is super easy to lose, so I make sure to keep it somewhere safe when I’m not using the headset. Losing it would cause major interruptions and frustration. Overall, the Poly Voyager is a solid, reliable headset that really improves the sales call experience. The comfort, sound quality, and noise filtering make it worth dealing with the small quirks. If you spend a lot of time on the phone, this headset is definitely worth considering.

V2 is better than the already great V1
By Rob on Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2023
Updated review - 7/3/2024: At some point months after I started using it, the Focus V2 would constantly disconnect on calls only. I tried everything including just connecting to the phone and not the laptop at the same time. It does this wherever I am - on the road, in the city, in the country. No problem staying connected when listening to music/videos, etc. on iphone or laptop. The headset became useless for calls. I asked for a warranty replacement and after thorough testing, they gave it to me. Same problem. I bought another bluetooth headset out of necessity since I use this work, and it stays connected with no issues. Also, the old Focus V1 works fine, no problems staying connected. It's something to do with this model, so I can no longer recommend it, dropping from five star to one star. I used the Voyager Focus V1 for many years - it's been a great headset, and is still going strong. I needed another headset, however, and decided to try the V2 version. the first one I received would not connect properly via bluetooth. It would say it was connected, but then as soon as the caller answered it would disconnect - while still saying it was connected (some other reviews allude to this problem). I returned it for a replacement after a couple of weeks of frustration. The replacement has worked flawlessly since I received it almost three weeks ago - I've used it daily, usually multiple times a day. The key V2 improvement over V1 for me is that the sound quality is better - both what I hear and how others hear me. The sound is crisper, so words are a bit more intelligible. Again, V1 was already great - but V2 is the improvement I didn't know I needed. Add to that improved battery life and bluetooth range, with a fit that feels very similar to V1, and you have a winner. I noticed many reviews surfacing an issue with how V2 replaced the V1 tactile on/off switch with an electronic button. Poly must have addressed this, because my phone has the tactile on/off switch - it's totally fine, as functional as the V1 switch. I also notice some reviews complaining that the volume level function has changed to up/down buttons on V2. I have zero issues with this, it works fine, just as easy to use as on V1, although now I press buttons instead of turning something. I don't use ANC, so can't comment on how good it is versus the virtually non-existent ANC on V1 - it's definitely better, but I don't know if it's good enough for those who need this feature. All in all, I'm very happy with V2 and would buy it again if needed.
