Great for travel, maybe not everyday use
By Jean Gray on Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2023
I initially got this for travel (Apr of last year) because so many hotels still haven't revamped rooms with more outlets and it has a USBC outlet that will charge a MacBook Air. It's great for that purpose as it packs down small and is great if you have to plug things in that have warts that generally end up blocking an outlet. It might not be for everyday use. Around 8 months ago, I reworked my electronic set up and decided my 8 plug outlet with USBC would be better used elsewhere and given this has a USBC outlet that will charge a MacBook Air, I only needed two plugs. It worked great and I used the USBC outlet daily and the A outlets 2-3 times a week. It stopped working a couple days ago and I noticed the cord was hot at the outlet. I tried unplugging it to reset it, but even with nothing plugged into the USB outlet area on the power strip was hot to the touch. Sadly there is only a 3 month warranty on power strips. Just glad none of my electronics were damaged and the cord just stopped charging. The power outlets still work, but I stopped using it because I don't want to risk a fire or damage from a surge. I'm a huge Anker fan and have loved their battery packs. I have several other power strips that I have been very happy with a use on a daily basis and hoping this is just a random dud. Just disappointed that this one only worked for a few months of constant use. On the upside, it was only about $25 and not one of the $80+ ones. I would just recommend anyone who has one to periodically check the temp at the USB outlets to make sure nothing has shorted out.
