DIGITAL PHOTO FRAME
By Jordan on Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2024
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS) My family and I highly recommend this digital photo frame for a variety of reasons but mainly because of its simple design. The frame itself is fully intact when delivered. Meaning, there aren’t any tiny pieces you’ll have to join together to build. The connection and setup is basic and is all completed once you follow the connection prompts automatically displayed on the screen of the photo frame when the device is initially plugged into a power source. Once connected to WiFi you’ll need to download the Nixplay app and create an account which will allow you to link your newly created account to the desired frame. Once fully connected and linked the uploading of photos is as easy and basic as can be. The app will ask you to allow access to your photos on your cell phone and once this access is allowed you simply select the photos you wish to display and select the ‘upload’ button. This basically is confirming all of the photos you’ve designated from your camera roll will be uploaded via WiFi connection to your new photo frame. All newly uploaded pictures are added to the rotation along with all of the previous uploaded pictures. The app allows you to set the speed of the picture rotation and also gives the option to display the date and time at the bottom of the screen to be displayed at all times while all of the pictures filters through. The frame is pretty pricy and is definitely not inexpensive for a photo picture frame but my family has grown to love watching it! My family and I find ourselves watching the frame cycle through all of the pictures sometimes even more intently than watching a TV program. My mother has this frame in her living room and all of my siblings downloaded the Nixplay app and logged in to her account allowing each of us to individually add photos to her frame and update & add content periodically. Our mom is pleasantly surprised when she spots a newly added picture and it puts a smile on her face! I ended up ordering a frame for myself and simply added the serial number of the new frame to my mom’s existing account. Her app now displays two frame icons when opening the app so make sure to select which frame, or both, you wish to add your pictures to. Also, setting up our frames this way allows everyone access to add pictures to my frame as well.

Nice looking product. Terrible app
By KS on Reviewed in the United States on October 24, 2020
The packaging is very nice, like an Apple product. The frame looks nice also, high quality. I like the way the charger is integrated into the little stand, it really looks good and decreases clutter. The interface of the app is nice, but leaves a lot to be desired. My little nephew could have written a better program. I am using it on a newer iPhone. When loading photos, it randomly shows the photos on my phone over more than 10 years. I have no idea how it chooses to show the photo order. Just any photo or video I have on my phone over more than a decade just randomly shows up as I scroll. Even the most recent photos I have taken are somewhere randomly in the middle of 30,000+ photos. I could not figure out if there is a sort function somewhere. Also, loading photos is very very slow. Maybe if I leave it on for an hour, it will go through all of my photos and then decide to sort them by date? No idea!! Seems like this should be figured out in a Beta version 0.001. Next thing I noticed is there is no option in the app or on the frame to rotate a photo, at all!!! So, after picking a few photos from 2010, 2015, 2016, 2020, I had to go out into my iPhone photos app, find the photos, rotate them, come back to the Nixplay app, wait for several minutes as it loaded all of my photos, scroll down to find my photos somewhere, because as I stated, they are just in some sort of random order, select it to upload the new rotated version to the frame. Why in the world is there no option to rotate the photo on the frame?? Especially if this is designed for multiple people to upload to it. If I give access to my siblings for uploading to my parents frame and I cannot even teach my parents to at least rotate the photo when it shows up...what??! The moment I decided to box it up and return it. I have a total of 10 photos uploaded from my iPhone. The app shows that 38% of the frame storage is full!!! What in the world?? Is there a hard drive in this thing from 1982? How in the heck is 38% of the storage full with 10 photos? By my calculations, this thing fits 26 photos total? Something is wrong here. I did not try to upload any more than the 10 photos to actually see how much it can hold because I was already done with it. You really want me to pay $5 a month for a subscription for this thing? In conclusion: I am quite disappointed. I bought this for my 70+ father's birthday, came to town to set it up in their house so they could see family photos the kids upload. My father now has no birthday present because I bought a product which should not yet be released. If the manufacturer wishes to reach out to me, I'd gladly give them some UX/UI advice.
