(NEW) TCL Alto 6+ 2.1ch Dolby Audio Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer

I think we should start with .. I am reviewing a speaker that cost me about $125 and I think is available now for 100 bucks. So I didnt expect and you shouldn't expect to get the same quality sound from some expensive sound system. So here are some of my findings and thoughts. I tried the speaker with an HDMI through Arc. Basically in this configuration it becomes your main speaker and your internal speakers are no longer used. Its cool because it comes on and goes off with your tv remote and you dont need 2 remotes. Problem is that there is NO available way to adjust bass or treble and the sound "for Me" is to muddy and the wife and I were having a real tough time with dialog in movies. You can mess with the TV sound settings some and make it better but .. I found.. its not that great as the only and primary speaker set up. Maybe its the old ears. I decided to use the optical cable and I have the internal speakers and the Speaker bar working at the same time with no echo. I have been using this configuration since soon after I got it. Pluses .. you can kind of balance out the speakers so you get crisp speech but you you get the amazing bass and volume for those favorite action movies. In this set up you have four speakers and a subwoofer. The TV speakers are a bit Tinny and the sound bar with subwoofer is a bit Bass'y. Combined .. all our favorite movies sound Great! Explosions and car crashes and gun battles rattle the walls but in the lull when actors are planning their next move you can hear every word. I use the same set up when playing computer games and its amazing. Guess the down side is you have to use both remotes. As a kid who acted as my dad's remote before remotes was a thing .. Having 2 remotes is hardly a big deal for me. So .. use the optical and internal speakers and I think you will be very happy with the sound bar and you cant beat the price.
