Great Product
By C. Hayes on Reviewed in the United States on July 29, 2022
I purchased this doorbell to replace our Ring doorbell. I have owned three different versions of the Ring doorbell, by far I like this Lorex much better. I don’t get as many unwanted motion detection‘s, the night camera works great and I like the fact that my video is recorded on the device and not in the cloud. Plus, this is free and I don’t have to charge up a battery, which was becoming a hassle on my Ring. I have been using the Lorex for a few weeks and like it very much. I’ve only experienced some minor issues, which are nothing compared to my Ring device. I have not had the need to call technical support. I am a 65 year old female and installed this on my own as well as the inside doorbell attachment, very easy.

Frustration Unleashed: An Unwanted Symphony of Notifications
By Robin on Reviewed in the United States on May 31, 2023
I recently purchased a doorbell from Lorex with high hopes of a seamless experience, much like the popular Ring doorbell. During the winter months, this doorbell worked like a charm, allowing me to keep an eye on my doorstep and communicate with visitors. However, as spring and summer arrived, this once promising device has become a source of never-ending annoyance and frustration. Living in northern Ohio, I expected some differences in functionality due to seasonal changes, but I was not prepared for the incessant barrage of notifications that this doorbell bombards me with throughout the day. The culprit? Shadows playing games with the camera's sensitivity, mistaking the gentle movement of leaves on the sidewalk as potential visitors. It's as if every tiny breath of wind becomes an emergency requiring my immediate attention. This continuous alarm has transformed my doorbell from a helpful security tool into a maddening orchestra of false alerts. Instead of focusing on the important task of monitoring actual visitors, I'm constantly on edge, bracing for yet another notification that inevitably leads to a sigh of exasperation. The never-ending cycle of false alarms has left me feeling utterly drained and disillusioned. To address this issue, I reached out to Lorex's customer support, hoping for a solution. While the representative I spoke to was courteous and understanding, they delivered the unfortunate news that the sensitivity of the device cannot be adjusted. This revelation left me dumbfounded and trapped with a doorbell that simply cannot adapt to its environment. As a location where customers frequently visit, I rely on my doorbell to function flawlessly and alert me only when necessary. Unfortunately, this doorbell falls incredibly short of meeting that basic requirement. It fails to distinguish between genuine visitors and the harmless movements of nature, leading to a constant state of unnecessary anxiety. I regretfully cannot recommend this doorbell to anyone who desires a reliable, hassle-free experience. While it may have its merits in certain conditions, the lack of sensitivity adjustment renders it unfit for locations with changing environmental factors. I implore Lorex to address this critical flaw in future iterations of their product to prevent others from enduring the same frustration and disappointment I have experienced. My location has a porch roof, so I am surprised at this issue. In conclusion, if you're seeking a doorbell that works consistently throughout the year, look elsewhere. This doorbell's inability to differentiate between significant events and trivial occurrences makes it an infuriating purchase. Save yourself the aggravation and opt for a doorbell that can adapt to seasonal changes, preserving your peace of mind and sparing you from the incessant alarm of leaves rustling in the sunshine.
