Certified Refurbished Ring Video Doorbell 3

This thing is inconsistent as all get out. Amazon can pull up directly in front of it, not 20 feet… get out and bring two large packages… and it doesn’t activate… but then someone just walking by on the sidewalk, it’ll pick up. I’m moving tomorrow… router placement and connectivity will change… So i’m going to see if that helps. If not, this is going back. My cheap $30 doorbell camera picked up activity way better than this thing. I have the ring doorbell set to maximum sensitivity and some people are able to walk right up in front of it and do the macarena without it noticing. Here’s the thing, when the Amazon guy showed up, he knocked on the door… the camera didn’t activate, but I was able to immediately pull up the live feed… so it was connected… it just didn’t acknowledge there was a person there. UPDATE: After having this thing since January 2024, I’m completely unsatisfied. The Ring camera system is so unreliable. Both the doorbell and the outdoor/indoor stick up camera. They freeze and tile up, rendering the videos useless. They don’t record long enough most of the time. They are hard to communicate with people through them… video picture quality is unremarkable even when they function as intended. Will be throwing out my ring system and going with a different brand. 6/11/2025 UPDATE: This thing is junk. 50% of the videos freeze and tile up. Takes it forever to load the screen when i click on a notification to see who’s at my door. I’ve paid off the whole ring system and now I’m going to get rid of it. The cheap 30 doorbell from Amazon I bought a few years ago is much more reliable as far as recording and stuff. It did crap out after 6 months… But the while it worked, it was much better. All in all- I wish I would have never bought the Ring Doorbell nor the stick up cameras, nor the security system. Stay away from Ring products.
