A beast of a headset.
By Matt Hersman on Reviewed in the United States on October 27, 2024
I am blown away by this headset. I have never really owned anything like it, and am thrilled with all of the features it packs. The build quality feels superb, and the sound can be too, and it has all kinds of EQ and Spatial Audio settings to really tune it so it sounds how you want it to. The design is really cool looking, and I love the RGB effects, which give it that personal touch. The headset is fairly large, but also highly adjustable, so it should fit most users okay. I am probably the most impressed with the active noise cancellation and head tracking technologies that the headset has. It has a gyroscope in it, so if you’re using Spatial Audio, you can turn your head, and the audio will move with it, which I just have never seen anything like. Though I feel I can give it five stars for the way I’m using it, I will point out a few potential downsides that may be a detriment depending on your situation. First and foremost, though you can use this thing on PC, console and mobile, I would not recommend it for Console or Mobile, as many of its features won’t really work without the PC software. Also, it is a wired headset, which I prefer, but some users may not, If these downsides are problems to you, you may want to look into the JBL quantum 910 that may not be as high spec, but are wireless and have an “X” and “P” variant that are marketed towards Xbox and PlayStation respectively, and thus are probably more compatible with console.

Terrible
By Eric johnson on Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2025
I had issues with a prior headset so I figured I'd drop a bit of extra money to get a better more reliable product. I use JBL for a lot of things and most the time I have been very pleased with the quality. This on the other hand. WOOF. Everything was great about this headset at first. The sound was great. The mic was very clear. It was comfortable. And I thought the software was good with a decent UI. But this software eventually became the bane of my existence. After the first day my computer would not "see" this product. Meaning in the list of sound options on windows it disappeared. I would have to unplug it and replug it in and select it fast enough before it "forgot" it was there. This also caused my other devices to have issues occasionally. After some basic googling I found loads of threads saying people have the same issue with varying fixes from removing the software altogether to rolling back to a previous update, to messing with the guts of windows to try to make it work. I messed with some of these options, but when it made all my audio devices stop working I said enough is enough. For a $300 headset this is absolutely unacceptable. Fortunately I was within a week of my return date so I was able to recoup my loss. I might be the small minority of people who had this issue, but enough people DID have this issue that I could find multiple threads with potential fixes. But I would not risk it. The software is junk and I'd invest your $300 elsewhere. You can buy a more reliable product for 1/4 of the cost of this piece of junk. I'm back to using my old Razer and I think I'm going to stick with it for the time being. This whole ordeal and the prior set I bought that also had issues really turned me off looking for gaming headsets for the time being.
