For the price, has to be 5 Stars! *NICE* BATTERY GRIP!

I purchased this Meike grip for my a7r IV knowing it was less than 1/3 of the price of the Sony grip...about 70% less than it's Sony counterpart to be more exact. Was not expecting much when it arrived but I must admit that I am pretty impressed. By itself, the battery grip feels lighter than the Sony, and makes you wonder if it is frail or poorly built. Once attached to the camera body, though, it feels solid and provides a VERY comfortable grip for my very large hands. It has performed flawlessly for me and I have used it landscape, vertical and loved the remote intervelometer/shutter. I tested it with 2 x RAV batteries for the last 3 weeks and here are my impressions: PRO: - PRICE - you just have to be impressed with 70% off - Feel - out of the box was not impressed, but attached to the camera it's solid, matches the finish of the a7r IV - On/Off Button on grip - Remote/Intervelometer - also a very nice feature for some landscape work - Battery life - Other reviewers mention battery drain that I did not experience. I don't often use my RAV batteries as I keep them as "back ups" but I saw impressive battery performance equal to my Sony battery + grips - Custom buttons and dials CONS: - Would have preferred black, not silver, buttons - Doesn't feel as well made when separate from camera - Button depress function is not as smooth as its Sony counterpart - Remote instructions weren't too clear (OK, user error might be an issue, but have to turn battery grip to "Off" for remote release) TO BE DETERMINED: - Durability - Weatherproofing Bottom line - if this grip stands the test of time and lasts, then this is THE one if you are looking to avoid the Sony-tax. I will update in the future

Yeah Not for the Sony A7 IV
By Honest Fred on Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2022
Great brand. Grip feels well made. Unfortunately it is not made to fit properly on a Sony A7 IV. Everything works, but it doesn't seal and fit properly. Removed and reinstalled a few times. While I love my old Meike Canon Grips and they have proven to take brutal beatings and weather conditions, this one fails and sadly can not recommend.
