Reliable and Accurate Motion Detection – A Must-Have for Home Security!
By Jh on Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2025
The Ring Alarm Motion Detector has been a fantastic addition to my home security system. It’s incredibly reliable and accurate, providing peace of mind by detecting motion in and around my home with ease. The setup was straightforward, and it synced perfectly with my Ring Alarm system. What I really appreciate is how sensitive yet customizable it is. I can adjust the settings to suit my needs—whether I need more or less sensitivity in certain areas, the Ring app makes it easy to configure. I also love the pet-friendly feature—it detects human motion while avoiding false alarms from pets, which is a big plus for pet owners. The battery life has been great, and I haven’t had to change the batteries yet. The motion detection range is perfect for my space, and I’ve been impressed with how quickly the alerts come through on my phone when motion is detected. It’s also nice that the design is discreet, fitting seamlessly into my home’s decor. Overall, I highly recommend the Ring Alarm Motion Detector to anyone looking to enhance their home security. It’s accurate, easy to set up, and works perfectly with the rest of the Ring system. Definitely a must-have for anyone serious about keeping their home safe!

Many false notices/alarms - beware
By LawDog on Reviewed in the United States on July 9, 2025
These MOSTLY work OK. The problem is that when they don't, and if you have your alarm armed, you get a false alarm, and it can be a real issue. I have three of these sensors, and in the past year, ALL THREE have randomly set off the alarm when there was no motion (as confirmed by cameras and on one occasion I could see the room from outside while it was indicating motion). Two of the three were non-events, as I was able to deactivate the alarm, but one was when I was out of town with no cell phone access to cancel, and the police came, which resulted in a "false alarm" claim that I have to pay for. There was no reason for the alarm to go off - no pets, nobody was in the house. It was just a false reading from the sensor. So, I don't trust these sensors. I've checked the history and noticed a number of "motion detections" when nobody was home.
