Total game changer- upload and erase! Save the paper!
By katy h on Reviewed in the United States on July 9, 2025
Love. My new work journal. Write down my meeting notes or my daily tasks, upload to app which I have automatically send to text email or another app I use. Total game changer super easy to use eraser for a quick fixes or any towel that is damp to wipe off. Easy to upload as a JPEG, PDF, or change to embedded text within an email (although, it does misspell a lot of words I write or gets them wrong. So if I don’t write things perfectly, that part doesn’t work quite as well. But adding the image or PDF were simply making some adjustments to the embedded text make it easy to share with my team or simply upload to my OneNote. I use at work.

Great concept, needs improvement

I love the idea here: reusable notebook to minimize paper waste. I got the letter-sized, lined Rocketbook. I actually enjoy writing on the "paper," which is like very thin flexible pieces of whiteboard surface. It takes the ink fairly well, though obviously it isn't as absorbent as regular paper. The notebook cover is a pretty color and seems fairly durable for a flexible cover. I didn't have any trouble with the ink smearing or taking too long to dry; just used a bit of tissue paper at the bottom of each page when I folded the notebook over. But the downsides make this feel like a beta version to me: • Pens. You can use only one category of pen, the Pilot Frixion pens. I like writing with bold-tipped pens in different colors—but there's only one type of pen in the Frixion line that actually has a bold tip that gives you solid-color ink (the Ball Knock Retractable Gel Pen), and that pen only comes in 3 colors: black, red, and blue. And I don't write in red and don't prefer black. I tried the Frixion Colors Erasable Marker Pens, Bold Point, and they yield such a thin transparent line that I returned them - like thin blue highlighters instead of giving you a solid dark line. • Cleaning. This is a major pain. Each page has to be laboriously washed and dried, and it takes forever. There's got to be some tool they can develop to wipe each full page clean in one swipe - the floppy cloth smears the ink around and the pages usually need to be gone over again and again to really clean it all off. Then they have to dry. I've gotten more efficient at this. First time around I sprayed directly on the page and used a hair dryer on each; second time I dampened the cloth slightly and wiped and wiped, and the pages finally dried on their own. But still, it takes me maybe 1/2 hour-plus to clean the notebook each time, then I have to clean my hands and wash out the microfiber cloth...too much work. Surely the company can come up with a dry-erase-type eraser to just dry-wipe each page clean? Or some other alternative? I'd be delighted to try an improved version, but I'm not going to fork over another $35 for something that's not quite ready for prime time.
