"Some assembly required..."
By ShichidanBB on Reviewed in the United States on December 29, 2020
I got this for a new TCL 55" Roku television and my evaluation is in two parts: Part 1 is the description presented and the actual instructions. Simply put, the idea this is a, "15 minute", project is just not realistic. And that is having someone to help you. To me it is/was like buying bicycles for our kids when they were young that had the caveat, "some assembly required". As we all know that, "some assembly", was sitting up until 3:00am trying to put the thing together. This stand is not quite that bad but it isn't a, "15 minute", job...and does need two people at times...especially mounting the TV on the stand. Along that line, the box contained everything you needed except a Phillips screwdriver. Also, all the parts and small assembly items such as nuts, bolts, etc. were present; very nice. As for the instructions, overall they were OK but somewhat unclear in a few places most notably because you had to look at the diagrams for an explanation. I would make one final note...pay attention when you put the rails on the back of your TV that your screws are evenly aligned in their holes. I had one bracket that was off enough that when the TV was in place it had a very slight tilt. In rechecking the screws in the brackets I found one was just a hair off when fully screwed in, so much as to not really even be noticeable. Re-screwing it in corrected the problem. Part 2 is the delivery time and overall impression of the way the stand works. It is in these areas I give this item it's highest marks. Delivery was very timely even though it was during the busiest time (mail-wise) of the Christmas season. As for the product itself I am very pleased. Once it was assembled putting the TV on the brackets was very simple; lift, hang, and secure with the safety locks. However, it IS a two person job. That said, once on this stand is very sturdy and I have no concerns it will continue to hold the set easily. Final notes: First, depending on what kind of table you're putting the stand on, take a look before you set the cross-bracket levels (the horizontal ones the TV will hang on at the top), you want it to be. There are three levels. My table is 22" high and I put the brackets on the lowest level which put the center picture area at about 40" above the floor. Second, this stand has two clips on the back of the upright bar that easily hold two cords, (and three probably), keeping the clutter down. I am plugged into a cable box and Sony Blu-Ray player so I only have two power cords to deal with; the HDMI and HDMI (ARC) are not in the way because they are device to device, not dangling to the floor. Lastly, I would definitely recommend this stand, it is a good product at a good price.

No up and down tilt.

Nice stand except...there is no adjustment for the TV screen tilt angle; either tilt up or tilt down on the fly. The stand allows you to swivel the screen from left to right with ease. I did find I could use longer screws in the top VESA mounting holes along with thicker spacers and shorter screws in the lower mounting holes. Doing this effectively provided an acceptable downward tilt angle. I had to run through several configurations of screw length and spacer setups to dial in the angle I needed. It was a bit of a pain in the keester doing this several times. Be patient, as it takes a certain amount of trial and error to find the correct mix of screw length and spacer(s) sizes. You may need to have mount your TV and check fit. If the angle is not correct, you will then then dismount the TV and setup a different configuration and then remount the TV. Then check the tilt angle and redo it if necessary until it is right for you. Be aware, they do provide a nice array of screws and spacers but depending on your specific situation, you may need to purchase the appropriate length screws to meet your needs. I found the right size for my setup in my spare parts bin. The advantage of this stand is its height level. You have three options for height adjustment, but this choice is made at the time of setup and cannot be changed on the fly, so double check your setup as you go, because it will be easier to make height changes now, before locking everything in place. In sum, if tilt angle is important to you, you may want to look elsewhere or be prepared to mount and dismount your TV several times to get it dialed in.
