Charges phone fast! Needs "pd" wall charger to charge
By DrB on Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2019
**Update**I got a new "power delivery" charger, and it now charges in a reasonable amount of time. Having used this backup for a while now, I can highly recommend it. It has been a life saver, and... The battery lasts for a long time.**Original Review**I ordered this for when my wife is at a craft show all day without any power plugs and needs to keep her phone charged in order to accept credit card purchases. For charging a phone it works great! It arrived with maybe 25-40% battery, I plugged it in to charge (with my qc3 charger), and after 2.5 hours it was still blinking less than 50%. My first thought was... Wtf, the description said it charges back up quickly... My second thought was to check the "instructions". I found out that the instructions are completely useless, so I then googled it. I found the answer - in order to quickly charge this unit (20,000 pd), you need a "pd charger". Seems there is a special usb c high capacity "power delivery" charger that is around 45w for the usb c port. With this additional charger, I can charge this unit faster (supposedly - mine is on order now). I'll update after getting the new charger.Pros:- comes with a charge- comes with a USB C to USB C cable (1-2 feet)- nice design, feels well built.- a button to easily see the units current charge- charged my phone fast- while it doesn't look like it will fit into the included bag, it fits nicely. :)Cons:- requires a specific charger to charge in less than 15-20 hours.- instruction manual is useless

PSA: Don’t open sealed case!
By Justin from AZ on Reviewed in the United States on July 1, 2024
Had this portable charger for 3 years and 8 months. It held a charge well the first 3 years, the USB-C fast change seemed to work well but I could only get maybe 3 full charges before I had to recharge the pack. My old Anker seemed to last much longer and was able to charge more despite being smaller. Fast forward to early 2024 and I noticed the charger developed a bulge, it seemed to charge less efficiently and would get warm. A month later the bulge got bigger and caused the case to crack. At this point I stopped using it. It would lose its charge much faster and get warmer in that area. I recently decided to retire it but thought I would split the case to see if I could see the damage or maybe salvage it somehow. While peeling the corner of the case the cracked area started to smoke and quickly developed a glow. At this point I decided to place it in my sink and record this slow progression but it quickly bursted into 20” flames like you would see coming out of a blowtorch. It burned for about 15 seconds before I drowned it with my sink faucet. No serious damage was done (except to the portable charger), but it filled my house with smoke and my kitchen smells of electrical burning… I found out and wanted to warn people to not split the case! This could seriously hurt someone and easily result in a house, car, wildfire. I’m not sure if this would have happened if I left it alone as it was splitting and getting hotter over time. If you smell or see smoke treat it like a live grenade. Let it burn outside on the concrete or inside a metal container if possible. I’m not saying anything bad about this product or company but simply sharing my experience. I do have an Anker portable charger I bought about 6 years ago and still use to this day with no issues. Also, the portable charger was fully charged just before exploding.
