Samsung Q70R Series HDR 4K Smart QLED TV

I'm not a super nerd and can quote you all the specs. Nor can I tell you about the technical aspects of the projection. Here is my review in normal-people speak:First, I bought this TV as a result of accidentally cracking the inner screen on my LG 4k TV that was 2 years old. Didn't realize that you can squeeze a TV too hard when putting it on/off the wall. Anyway, that resulted in my quest for a replacement.I searched all the websites about TVs. Rtings, Consumer Reports, Amazon reviews, Costco Reviews, Best Buy reviews, you name it. I had it narrowed down to the 65" Q70, the Q60, and the Sony 65" 4k. The Q70 was $200 more than the others, but after I read the reviews, I became convinced that this was worth the extra money. My old LG was edge lit, and when Directv was on pause and the logo was bouncing around, you could see that sections would light up from top to bottom when the logo passed through a zone. This Q70 is a full-array lit screen, which means deeper blacks and less light bleed.When you receive this TV, you'll notice something right off the bat--how well it is packed. Super easy to take out of the carton, and lots of protective materials cradle the TV. And this really caught my attention--the front of the screen on each side had a protective "plate" that prevented me from applying too much force into a small area (remember that's how I broke my last TV!).One thing to note: If you are mounting this on a wall, it requires some really long screws. I thought I could use the screws from the LG, but they were way too short. So make sure you have the right screws before you get ready to hang on the wall. I was lucky and just happened to have another mount sitting around unopened and found some mounting screws for the VESA mount.From there it was plug and play easy. Ran my 2 HDMI cables and one optical out cable so I could watch streaming TV and listen to it on the stereo. Speaking of sound, the sound from this TV is really much better than expected. Won't compare to a true surround sound stereo, but surprisingly good tone for every day watching.You buy this for the picture. And so far I am blown away. The upscaling to 4k has been nothing short of astonishing. We watched the Survivor finale last night in HD, and the upscaling really make the images so sharp. We've watched a couple of streaming 4k movies, and they were really good. I just bought Wizard of Oz (remastered 4k blu ray) and can't wait to see how it looks.The remote is pretty simplistic, but does what it needs to do. We tend to use our satellite controller for most viewing, and have a Harmony all in one remote if we want to switch from TV to streaming TV to XBox or DVD.I guess the final proof of any purchase is the question: Would you buy it again knowing what you know now? And that would be a definite and resounding "YES!"
