Outstanding electronic drum kit.
By MD on Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2018
Roland is the first name in electronic drums. I have owed many drum kits both acoustic and electronic. I purchased this kit as I will soon be moving into an apartment and can no longer terrify my neighbors with my regular acoustic kit. If you are looking for electronic drums to cut down on the noise, and you are on a budget, this is the kit to get. The mesh pads have the same feel as a regular acoustic drum kit (The solid rubber pads of other electronic kits have too much stick bounce). All the drums are double triggered, which means you can do rim shots and they are also sensitive to how hard you hit the drum. The cymbals are also chockable, so you can silence them with a hand grab. It case you are wondering how Roland can put out a kit for half the price of most of their other sets, they have cut some corners. The actual drums and cymbals are the same quality, as far as I can tell, to their much more expensive kits. Where they have saved money is on the drum brain. It gives you 15 fantastic kit sounds ( hard rock, reggae, jazz, percussion, electronic etc), a metronome and even some included songs to play along with. What you don't get is the ability to tune individual drums to a specific pitch or the ability to input your own sounds, or add additional drums. These were all worthy trades offs to me. I love this kit. I am thrilled with this kit. It is rugged, easily portable and sounds terrific. So are there any negatives? The only negatives is I wish it played a little louder from the headphone jack as you can hear the sound of the sticks hitting the pads and cymbals even at the loudest volume setting with headphones on. There are easy work-arounds for this such as a cheap headphone amp or a more expensive drum monitor. I should also point out that the Tama Iron Cobra double drum pedal pictured in the photo does NOT come with the kit. It is in the photo only to illustrate that the bass drum pad surface is wide enough to accommodate a double pedal which is a huge plus. In closing, this is a fantastic electronic kit with an acoustic kit feel that is an incredible value.

Symbols are triggering twice.
By Kurtis Krohn on Reviewed in the United States on July 15, 2021
I purchased this kit along with the melodics software to learn drumming. I've had nothing but problems with the symbols as for whatever reason they are triggering multiple times with one hit. It's quite annoying as I'm playing as soft as possible. Sometimes hitting the snare will trigger the high hat or other symbols. Also using the kick pedal will also trigger symbols. It seems with everything being attached to the same frame causes vibrations to trigger things that you don't want to trigger. Slightly annoyed as I'm trying to learn the drums but this double triggering is making me not want to play and practice. I figured for the price it would be something really good to practice on and it would work great but it does not. Maybe look into a Roland set that doesn't have everything attached to one frame if they make something like that.
