Don’t Buy - Refurbished Air Pods out of box don’t even work!

If I could give zero stars I would. I gave these as a gift to my son. I did not know that his girlfriend got him air pods which were the latest model. As a result he never used them and they remained in the box. I only found this out last weekend when I went to visit him. I told him I would take and use them. I am so disappointed I charged for 8 hours and there is no light green or amber indicating that they are charged or even working. Naturally they are not pairing to Bluetooth either. These are refurbished Apple Air Pods through this seller, Newend Electronics, and it does not even work. First time ever buying refurbished never again. Unfortunately I missed the window to return. What a waste of money!
