Amazon Basics 4320 Joule Power Surge Strip w/15A Circuit Breaker,4 Wide Placed Plugs,8 Normal
By David Rocks on Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2021
I wanted a power strip with an excellent surge protection rating at a good price. I bought this AMAZON BASICS power strip because it has the 4320 Joule surge clamping power I wanted together with a built in 15Amp circuit breaker/On/Off switch. I am getting a new washing machine and as they have a lot of electronic microchip circuitry compared to the ANCIENT 50+ year old Kenmore it is replacing a surge protector is vital. I fixed the old one repeatedly but won't be able to with a new machine with microchips rather than discrete switches/components. Hence I absolutely wanted a high surge clamping rating to protect my new machine from power outages and surges. This strip has a couple of things I did not like. The screw hold down slots on the rear are too small and offset - they don't line up lengthwise which makes it harder to mount without making a hole template. I used a big fender washer and wood screw to help with the hold down as the pictures show. There is also a very bright clear plastic acrylic rim lit by an inside LED to show the strip is grounded and ok. The brightness in my particular use doesn't matter but for use with an entertainment center I can understand other people's complaints. The strip has a heavy, long 8 foot power cord and 12 outlets with 4 having wide spacing for wall warts - that works for me. The price is great. The plastic strip is sturdy enough, a metal strip is not a requirement in my opinion. I Recommend this Amazon Basics Power Strip with 8 foot cord and 15A switch/circuit breaker. The high joule rating is what I wanted. The bright green LED edging may not work for everyone but had no effect on my application. Excellent value! I hope you’ve found the information and my review helpful.

Tripping panel box breaker, not device protection.
By Simmons on Reviewed in the United States on July 2, 2025
Got this may 2020, was great, until July 01 2025. Now works fine when what is plugged in is powered on, but shortly after devices (a laptop, and a usb charger) are powered off, is tripping panel box breaker.
