Feel great, sound great, look great

I've absolutely fallen in love with these. I previously had a pair of bluetooth on-ear headphones that I grabbed for about $60, but finally met their end after about 2-3 years of nearly constant use. Decided I would go big and upgrade to some quality noise-cancelling headphones. Wow I wish I had done so sooner. These feel fantastic to the point I sometimes forget I'm wearing them; my old headphones would begin to hurt my ears where they would push against where the arm or my glasses were, which makes sense considering they were on-ear headphones, but the quality of the 'foam' pads on the Bose headphones is far and away superior. The noise cancelling is something I always thought was a luxury for headphones, but after trying it I'm not sure I'll ever be able to go back. I sometimes just throw these on without playing music just to tune out background noise at the office. Doesn't cut out people talking or keyboards clacking, but definitely reduces the noise level. The real benefit is cutting out the sound of the AC and various hums, which suddenly sound like jet engines when I turn off the noise-cancelling. And of course can't review headphones without talking about the sound quality. I always loved the sound of my old Sony on-ear headphones, but these are next level. Everything is balanced very well, and seems as though some lower volume sounds come through a little cleaner. Incredible quality for everything I've listened to so far. I've yet to drain the battery; I have them on about 6-10 hours a day on average with high noise cancelling, and try to charge every other day if I remember. Connecting to my Android phone was a breeze, and seamless Google Assistant integration using the virtual assistant button on left ear piece. Only issue I've had was figuring out how to turn off notification sounds. Seems the only solution is to put my phone into Do Not Disturb. Being a software developer who didn't like manually doing this every time I put on my headphones, I went ahead and automated this in Tasker, which I was already using to automate setting volume anytime a bluetooth device connects/disconnects, so wasn't a huge issue for me. To conclude: these things have barely been off my head if I can help it. Everything about them is great, with exception of jumping through hoops to turn off notification sounds (group messages are the worst, amirite?)

Don’t be distracted by fake negativie reviews- it’s BOSE!
By PH-animal luver on Reviewed in the United States on December 3, 2018
Didn’t expect anything bad simply because it’s a Bose- but that doesn’t mean they r flawless in everything they make. PROs: - expected Bose sound quality that makes Bose - Bose! - nice style that looks “slim” and not like ur wearing a haz mat head gear. - super-duper noise-cancelling function (again, not too surprised) - ridiculously long battery life: I’ve been busy using it to build my amazon prime music library on my iPhone Ho since i got it 3 days ago, and listened to it every so often- it still says 80% after 3 days of using (albeit not continuous)- crazy. I foresee the only thing I need to attach to a power bank for in-flight use will be my iPhone and not this gadget. CONs: - this is series II, and it boasts Alexa interface- it SUX ROCKS. Unlike Seri, the stupid buggy app has to be running in order to use the button, that really defeats the purpose of “ hand-free” operation since u have to use your hands to launch the crappy app each time; and to make things worse, the brilliant engineers decided to share this (useless and annoying) function with the sound cancelling founction in the same button- it’s either or in the setup within the Bose app. The Bose app is decent tho in having everything u need to control the headphone. - this begs a question: why not just buy a series I on sale in Costco where the reviewers there claimed that there ONLY diff between the two series is the Alexa function. I still bought this one after reading their reviews because I like the latest stuff for peace of mind- not expecting his “new feature” is an utter nonsense based on its less than half-baked feature and interface. Pretty sure they put it there for the android users, but in my opinion, totally irresponsible when they roll this out and charge u $$$ for it when it is truly useless. - the bass is a bid weak compared to even much cheaper ones such as Tao or Corwins; and there is no function in the Bose app or the headphone to tweak it. Not happy with the lack of adjustments for the steep price tag. Conclusion: can’t really say it’s a bad product- because it’s Bose, but it’s a lot of $$$ to get something slightly better than the other brands I mentioned above (tried them both, but naturally it’s no Bose- especially in noise cancelling that is my do/die criterion. so spend ur hard earn $ wisely by truly understanding what’s most important to you vs your price point.
