Perfect for my tea desires. *BROKE NOW 10.02.19*
By Gadget Fanatic on Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2019
I have been boiling pots of water and putting it in my thermos to satisfy my tea needs, however this electric kettle with the infuser simplifies the process to always have a warm cup of tea. I have not timed approximately how long it takes to boil the water, but it seems quick to get it to 212F. Initial seeping is good with high temps however for a constant cup of tea, I have it set to about 185F so I can sip instead of waiting for the cup of tea to cool off. Looks like the infuser and the lid are held down magnetically, and it seems like it will last me. Great design too! It's the first day of using, if situation should change I will provide an update. As of October 2nd 2019, the kettle no longer powers on. It was good while it lasted however I have reached out to their support team via their website and waiting to hear back if they can offer a replacement, although on their site it shows limited warranty of 90 days, which is way too short.

Short lifetime, started out as outstanding and went down quite quickly

(update on 9/9/2021)I bought a replacement and will make sure I won't keep the kettle on its base, because it is the springs that wears out in the connectors. With the replacement, it turns out that there is a circle illuminating the kettle that never worked on my first one.(update on 7/05/2021)The unit just died. Nothing works. Please, notice that this one was operated under strict cleanliness.(update on 6/1/2021)The contact on the base is now compromised. You have to twitch it and tweak until it doesn't turn itself off well before the target temperature. For this, I am taking off a couple of stars.(update on 10/3/2020)My previous review said that the unit had accumulated rust.I would like to correct that this time.A new reviewer reminded me that the rust-like deposit could be simply tea, so I checked, and it is.I feel stupid and I would like to apologize for my previous "update."As the item has been working fine all the time, I am now giving it five stars.(update on 4/11/2020)Sadly, the bottom plate has developed rust. Oh, well, no need for iron supplements.Keep wondering when the rust will create a hole, though.(original review)The only blemish in this item lies in the fact that the top interior is not stainless steel, but plastic. However, everything below the waterline is glass or stainless steel. You can adjust the temperature in five-degree increments and you can have your water ready before adding the tea (I usually screw on the tea compartment after the water reaches the desired temperature). After soaking the tea leaves, you can keep the water warm for up to 60 minutes. Although the tea compartment slides up, theoretically out of the water, by your pulling the button on the top middle, the tea still reaches the water, unless the water level is way below capacity (1.7L). The unit works flawlessly, it is aesthetically pleasing, and it looks like it is going to last.
