Great flexibility, poor holder - Update
By daughterofthesun on Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2019
The description of this holder makes you think it's flexible and will work with different phones when in reality the holder isn't adjustable at all. Shame because other than that it's a very well made gooseneck. I love that the clamp to attach it to a shelf, table, etc. is adjustable to fit a wide range of sizes. I love that the gooseneck is super flexible yet firm. I can't understand why the phone/tablet holder itself is not adjustable. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that I am flummoxed. As you can see from my photo, unless your phone or tablet is exactly 4 1/4 inches wide or long, this is not going to work. Very disappointing. Glad I opened the box and tried it out as soon as it arrived. I would have been pissed if I missed the return window.********Update:The company contacted me and offered to send me a replacement product. I said, "sure." Two days later, I received the replacement, which works properly. I changed my original rating from two stars because, now that I can adjust it to accommodate my iPhone 8 Plus, it works perfectly! I don't even have to take the phone out of its holder. And the gooseneck is really flexible and can bent all different kinds of ways. Good customer service goes a long way in my book. And, for this price, I'm a super happy camper now.

Don't cuss at it

If you're gonna use this for filming, here's a few notes:1) it wobbles. The clamp is very strong and does it's job but don't put it on the edge of your desk because it will bounce and wobble. I ended up clamping it to a window sill so I wouldn't jostle it while I filmed.2) Account for phone weight. The clamp that holds the phone to the gooseneck is very strong and a tight fit at least for my phone (Samsung J7 sky). You can take the phone clamp off and on the gooseneck without too much trouble but you need to take into account the weight of the phone on the neck because it will cause the gooseneck to dip.3) Neck is stiff. Get the gooseneck into position (for the most part) before you get anything else done. If you know the clamp is gonna make this neck be extended a ways, get the neck extended as best you can before you clamp it down then do some micro-adjustments. The neck is strong, very strong, and I'm honestly afraid if I mess with it too much it'll snap the plastic sections.
