What the RV-3 should have been

I play Pedal Steel, not six-string, and I have been searching for a tasteful delay for years. Not since the 80s, when I played through a rack mount Ibanez DM-1000, bi-amped into 2 Nashville 400s, have I been satisfied with the sound. I will not schlep all that gear around today. I have had freestanding delay units coupled with either on-board reverb or a pedal, and I am not satisfied. During the 90s, Boss had the RV-3, but it was noisy and changed the tone too much. So I played without delay. When I tried the NUX at a gig, I was amazed at how it did not change the guitar's tone. I was quiet and easy to set up. This is a pedal I am going to keep for years.

Good sounding reverb and delay but.....

I'm not a pedal person per se. More an amp with processor in the loop kinda guy. I'm putting together a pedalboard for use in a small room. I thought this unit would be nice to have to make the pedalboard "stand alone", without need of external effects. The pedal supplies only reverb and delay. It does them well, however the output is 100% wet. Yes you can route the signal "parallel" or "serial", but it's still 100% wet. You can't really adjust the amount of reverb and delay in the signal. You can vary their parameters though. I'm used to TC Electronics G Major and G Major II. Sorry pedals just don't come close to actual rackmount processors, despite the popularity of pedals. The flexibility offered in terms of wet/dry mix, series/parallel out the ying yang and balanced connectors, not to mention 100s of patches just blows pedal reverbs out of the water.
