Definitive Technology W Studio

Great sound bar with a couple minor caveats. Design is so clean and attractive, the build quality is the nicest I have seen for a sound bar; the only plastic involved with it is the remote. Everything seems to be cast aluminum and crisp black fabric. Connectivity is easy and play-fi works well for streaming music. The lack of Bluetooth is an odd omission, and there's no 4k pass through, but if you are running through your TV that's a non issue. Most importantly the sound quality is superb. Crisp, clear, detailed, beautiful. Strings, guitars, percussion and vocals are really natural and nuanced. Never shrill, very natural for dialogue or vocals and the bass performance is fantastic for such a modest sized subwoofer. You would probably get a noise violation before running into distortion issues. It does not have Atmos support, but the W studio sounds so good that it's hard to complain much about that. Unless the lack of Dolby Atmos or 4k pass through are a deal breaker, it's hard to think of a better option.
