best lightweight Bluetooth headphones I have owned
By Eric McD. on Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2020
At the sale price I got this was an absolute steal. Decent clean sound, very good battery life, well made, comfortable and lightweight; what's not to like. I use it to listen to movies late at night and when I'm on the treadmill, there's no appreciable sound lag like a lot of other Bluetooth headphones; perfect for my purposes. Compared to Sony or Bose full sized headphones the sound isn't as good of course, but it's pretty good, lacking some bass but overall nice and clear, sort of like studio phones. Eartip seal is good enough to prevent significant sound leak and block out most normal ambient sounds. Battery life is about 6-7 hours, maybe 4 movies. The controls are basic-basic, you need to read the instructions to figure out how to use them and what each beep pattern means. They use aptX and AAC protocols, battery life is visible on Androids notification bar. I have not had any complaints about sound quality on phone calls.

Sound quality and comfort are top notch. Reliability is not.

Sound quality and comfort are top notch. Reliability is not. I travel a lot, and bought these for airplane use. I didn’t want bulky active noise canceling cans, though I admit that would work better. I wanted something small and packable that would have decent sound quality (AAC was a requirement) and low latency on iOS. These sound great and are very comfortable. They worked great for the first few months. Now, about 8 months after purchase and probably about 100-150 hours of actual use, not so much. A few months in, the haptic/vibration feedback failed. No biggie, I figure. That seemed gimmicky, but every now and then it was helpful to feel a buzz (like on a noisy airplane when you want to turn off the headphones, a quick buzz confirms they shut off). Still, I can live without that. Now, however, they’ve developed a defect that will make me toss them. The audio consistently cuts out. Every 30 seconds or so, the audio drops in both ears simultaneously for about 2-3 seconds. Other reviewers have mentioned a wiring problem (usually in the left ear). That doesn’t seem to be my problem as the dropout doesn’t have any dependence on positioning and happens in both ears at the same time. Bluetooth is stable, too, so that doesn’t seem to ne the problem. Regardless of the cause, it makes the headphones unusable. This is infuriating! Sadly, these have otherwise excellent headphones have proven themselves to be unreliable junk. Fortunately, they were cheap. I’m outside the return window, and because of the price, trying to get a warranty fix from KGI is not worth my time. To the e-recycler, they go. Save your money to buy something else.
