Monoprice Monolith 12in Powered Subwoofer w/500 Watt Amplifier

You really don't know what you're missing in a home theater setup until you get your first good subwoofer. I have tower speakers with dual 8" drivers each that do a well enough job handling low end for music, but I'm a home theater junkie and my towers just weren't giving me that seat shaking, loud thumping, look around to see if that was the kool-aid man crashing through the wall type of low end. This 12" sub does a great job filling in where the towers leave off. Sure, it's not an SVS PB-3000 and it's not as good a deal as some HSU subs, but it definitely holds it's own and it looks great, if you have the room! This thing is a monster, both in size and in performance. Setup is fairly straight forward, especially if you stick with the THX settings, although I did turn it up a couple DBs for my room. As always, if you can afford it, always go dual. The one sub works great, but to get that nice, even, room filling low end, you gotta go duals. I would recommend this sub to anyone looking for their first good, if not great, subwoofer in a home theater, or anyone looking to upgrade from a sub that's just not giving you what you need.
