works great for paracord!
By Austin David on Reviewed in the United States on July 2, 2018
We don't smoke but we do burn the ends of a lot of paracord (and occasionally larger nylon rope & lines). This device works great for it. The 3 beams are wide enough to cover the entire end of the paracord, and the little plasma area gets HOT. It'll quickly and precisely melt the end down, and the focus area is tight enough that we get a lot of control. It's about as good as a butane torch (tight blue flame), and way better than a butane lighter (long yellow flame). Haven't yet tested for longevity; if it seems to not last long-enough I'll update the review. Mini update: we used it to burn a few paracord ends (not a lot), then tonight it died on our last sparkler. We used it to light about a dozen bottle rockets and 6 big sparklers, and it needed a recharge. The recharge took less than 2h. It does work great for paracord & fireworks, but I would recommend a top-up charge before any extended planned activity. For comparison, I fill my butane torch about once per year and we use it an awful lot more.

Only lasted 15 days before being unable to take a charge anymore
By Amazon Customer on Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2018
My star rating will go up when they correct the product issues. It looks cool, it sounds cool, it even adds an interesting taste to your smoke...like that distinct scent you get from electric fires. Anyway, it worked swell, for about 15 days. It held a charge forever, it worked on cigarettes, pipes, and bongs alike. The first warning sign is that THERE ARE NO INSTRUCTIONS. I mean obviously, it's simple enough to use, but what I'm referring to is the actual safety side to it, not only to ourselves, but for the device itself. Anything electrical that needs to be charged should come with instructions on how to properly and safely recharge this device. Do you turn it off first and then charge, can you leave it on and charge, whats the recommended charge time, what lights will come on and off during charge? None of this is clarified, therefore no one can be held responsible if this device fails. Unfortunately, mine failed. Dead. It will not take a charge anymore, for no reason other than the device's internal parts failed. This is not due to any accidents, no its not the charging cable, it simply just stopped working without any warning. Sigh, I'm sorely disappointed, because this thing was wicked awesome.
