Refurbished

Phone is exactly as advertised, with plenty of space and speed. Transferred over my Tracfone number to here easily, and everything has been perfect since I got it a few days ago. I have been buying a new phone at least once a year, never satisfied by either size, or carrier, or whatever. Now I am very happy. My one ding is that the company that sold it, Kanga, did not include a USB-C to a USB-A. Instead, it was USB-C on both ends, which is useless for all but the latest computers owing to lack of USB-C. Fortunately, being a computer geek, I had such a needed cable I borrowed from another phone. Plus, I had just ordered the kind of cable needed, and it came the next day. So, I did not ding the review down to 4 stars as I had originally planned. Furthermore, Kanga had immediately offered me a refund with prepaid return envelope. That impressed me, but knowing that and the fact that I was getting the proper cable anyway, I did not lower the score. The only other slight ding is the screen seems a bit greasy, so I have to apply a bit of solution and a cloth, I guess. But, very trivial point, especially when I see the amazing speed of downloading one app after the other, each seconds apart, and the Pixel does not slow down, even when downloading a dozen or more apps simultaneously. With 128 GB storage and 4 GB RAM, it is amazing. Best phone I've ever owned, and I love the size as well (5" screen). Oh... there is also no sim card removal tool, but that is okay. Just use a safety pin.

Just don't do it

Save your money and sanity, do not buy this phone and if Google stands behind the Pixel 2 (or doesn't) like they do this nightmare, don't buy that one either. So guess I get to eat crow. This phone was great at first but now that I have had it for several months, it has turned into the glitchiest POS that I have ever owned. Random rebooting, screen freezing, and the inability to make or receive a call are just some of the surprises that await. Nearly all the apps crash daily sometimes the reboots loop 20 or more times in a row. Google support acts like it's the first time they have ever heard of such problems and suggest that I send it to their repair partners. For what? It has no physical damage. Are they going to write new software for it? Google instructs me to do a factory reset which of course wipes out any app data and doesn't fix the problem. Several more things to try and none do a darn thing. What a huge let down. I am keeping the original review posted too, to show that I really wanted to love it. Articles written by Apple Fanboys bad mouthing the Pixel phones but I could hardly be happier with my purchase. I have had Apple phones before and don't get me wrong, they are great phones but the Apple environment is very restrictive and designed to wring every cent possible from the consumer. The Pixel has a beautiful design, familiar layout and settings. I absolutely love the fingerprint reader since many apps have the ability to use it in place of a password. Tons of space and unlimited free cloud doesn't hurt either. Great battery life and the more durable USB C style charging cord. Great cell reception compared to the Samsung S5 active that I used to carry.
