LG 100W BT Sound Bar w/Wired Subwoofer

I didn't see the negative reviews until *after* I'd placed my order, and some of them were so bad I even hovered over the idea of cancelling it before it could ship. I can tell you now that I'm glad I didn't. Hook up was easy, doesn't require a degree in rocket science so long as you understand the simple notion of black wire goes here and red wire goes there. The sound was muddled at first, but after a bit of adjusting we got it where it's clear and the bass isn't so high it garbles. It is a refurbished system, and people need to understand that; so the packaging was opened, so what? Someone said the remote was "big" or "clunky." No. The remote is so small it sits in the palm of my hand. If there's one con to it, it is the remote that's the problem, though. The way the sound bar is designed, the remote has to be held up high to make contact with the bar, if you're holding it at lap height and the sound bar is up above you, it may struggle to connect. Other than that, great product! We ordered this one for our son, who will be moving out soon into his own place, so he'll have a nice TV and soundbar to take with him when he goes and won't want to take ours :-) Don't let other people's misfortunes scare you off, this is a great product and an excellent deal, to boot. For those looking for whole-house sound, this is probably not for you. We're in a modest sized house with a small living room that connects with the kitchen via a big, open area between the two. The sound fills up the living room nicely, when turned up, and that's what we got it for, so our son can listen to his music/movies/video games with good surround sound. Not to blast the windows out of our neighbors' homes. I was NOT paid to do this review.
