TV Setup is simple, past the physical part

After going against my typical buying instincts, I had stupidly ordered a 4K TV from Wal-Mart. I had ordered a 55" Samsung, 120hz 4K. Wal-Mart sent a 65" RCA, 60hz curved 4K (an RTCUC6520). On paper, that had actually translated to me getting a more expensive television - delivered by FedEx, who just drug it into my garage and didn't even bother to knock on the front door. So, not having a truck for transport at my disposal, I hooked it up, and that TV was a disaster. After tripping circuit breakers and blowing at least one surge protector, I found that the inputs for the RCA TV were backfeeding voltage. And the coaxial cable from my Spectrum cable provider were providing the ability to go to ground. This caused arcing and popping and general chaos. My Xbox One X, however, was able to put a signal into the TV without anything exploding, and allowed for me to watch some streaming services while I waited for the 75" Samsung I ordered from Amazon to replace it. Initially, I was very pleased with the RCA TV's limited capabilities. When the Samsung arrived, myself and a friend battled for about 90 minutes to get it hooked up. The TV wall mounting crew was to arrive the next day, and I was eager to see a fully functional TV - so we got everything up and going. All the HDMI's worked... the optical audio inputs worked. The entire TV worked like it was supposed to. As this was my first venture into the "4K" resolution world - I also learned that the RCA wasn't a 4K as advertised (the Xbox One immediately tattled on it when it was hooked to the Samsung). Could be that the inputs for the RCA were all out of whack, since they were giving off shocks - but, I learned a valuable lesson at why I had even forgot that RCA was a company. The RCA was absolute garbage, and I'm going to have a heck of a time returning it to Wal-Mart (although I may just set it out by the curb after all this). The Samsung is sharp. And it is smart. One remote controls everything without any setup, even when you're watching movies on the Xbox. These "ads" that people have complained about popping up when you turn on the TV... wow, really? Those are not "ads"... those are the Smart Apps that start with the TV. There's only around 8 buttons on the simple remote, and the one with the "back" arrow on it immediately exits the App menu - it's not difficult. And the apps work great over wi-fi or if you wanna hardwire the TV in. I paid more money than what I'd initially intended to be a 55" Samsung. But, I think my resulting satisfaction has been infinitely deeper. This TV is nothing short of impressive.

Horrible customer service!!!

This is my first ever review and I do apologize on how long it is Now this isn’t a review on the product itself since I haven’t gotten the chance to sit down and enjoy the TV, but a review on amazon and their warehouse deals. So I’m moving into a new apartment and I want to get myself a nice TV to put in the living room. So I opt to get this one after doing a little research. Now, I’ve never had any issues with ordering from Amazon or their Warehouse either. I saw a great price on the warehouse for $630 and it stated the tv worked perfect, but had some minor cosmetic issues. Not a big deal to me as long as everything works the way it’s supposed to. So the TV arrives and i take it out of the box and I notice that one of the stands is missing. I contact amazon and they tell me that they don’t sell the stand online, but they have similar stands starting around $20. So they issue me a $20 credit. Now these “stands” are just bracket stands that are big and bulky and not what I want for the TV. So I find the stand on eBay and paid $50 for them. They arrive today and I’m excited that I can finally set up my new tv and watch some 4K content! I snap the legs on the TV and I place it on the TV stand and I notice on the top right hand side a lovely crack!!!!! Boy was I pissed!! I plug in the TV and it’s all screwed up! I call amazon and speak with a rep who seemed to know what they were doing. At first he says “okay let’s go ahead and send you a replacement TV” I’m thinking oh great I can still get my TV. Then he goes “oh okay I can’t do that because this is a warehouse deal”. So I tell him isn’t that amazon still? And he tells me that it’s a 3rd party who sells the TV. Hold up, so why am I being taxed if it’s a 3rd party?!?. Then he begins to tell me that he has two options that I can do...I can get a full refund on a amazon gift card, plus a $75 credit that you will be able to use in the next two hours so you can purchase the tv or I can refund you from the form of your original payment but that will take days to get your refund. I opted for the gift card so I can order my TV tonight. So what did he end up doing? Refunded me in the form of the original payment because the other option isn’t available! Now I’m pissed because you do not offer services that you can not provide. He should have done his research first before opening his mouth with those options. Then he tells me that I have to bring the TV to UPS so they can send it back. I ask for a supervisor and he tells me there is nothing they can do for me. At that point I got off the phone. Is this how you train your employees amazon?!? Thanks!!
