Great performance in a small package
By Lance D on Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2018
This was easy to install and works great. I was able to mount it flush against my deck railing by relocating the position of the uhf portion (the 2 longer metal dowels) without affecting the performance - but WMMV. It really isn't that big considering how well it does, about the size of a small or medium pizza box. I had a small indoor antenna with amplifier placed in the window that was getting OK performance, but I couldn't get the local FOX station, despite the fact that the transmit antenna is at the same location as the other affiliates. I placed this antenna outside, about 3 feet higher and 8 feet over, and now I'm getting twice as many channels, all without artifacts or glitching.

Works as good as can be expected

See my update at the bottom for updated reception. The build quality is fair. I saw no increase in this vs a flat amplified antenna mounted in the window and facing direction of transmitters. This is installed at about 2 feet above roof edge at about 20 feet. I had to add an amplifier to bring in the rest ,about 25%, of the signals that the flat antenna was picking up. I would say there is very little antenna gain to overcome line loss and the amount of effort to install provided no benefit over the flat antenna. I used new RG6 quad shield coax to ensure best quality on downlead, less than 30 feet in length. I think additional money better spent on a higher quality antenna would be more wise. I built a coat hanger antenna, put it up 10 foot on pole and got nearly the same results as this is at 20 feet off the ground. Amplified coat hanger antenna was about equal. Were this antenna $20 I would say that would be about the right price.I have an update, one of those head scratchers. We have a small tv in the back room on it's own antenna. We had a hurricane that took that antenna out so I put this one up in it's place. Channel scan and brought in extra channels without amp. One is a VHF high that we can't get on the bigger antenna plus this is not amplified. I guess what they say about antenna location is true. Signals not what you expect, move it. Try to find open sky without trees or anything on the way.
