Good Value, Very Good Sound
By JM on Reviewed in the United States on June 17, 2017
If you are looking for good value, this product delivers very good sound at a reasonable price. I researched many other units before pulling the trigger on this Klipsch. Not a lot of extraneous features, very straightforward and easy to set up and use. Simple Bluetooth connection or standard 3.5 mm auxiliary cord. Klipsch invested most of the cost into the sound the unit produces. It is big sound from a small unit. I find it to produce good highs, excellent mid range and vocals, and strong base. Clarity is good. The base can tend to get a bit muddy at higher volumes on recordings that have heavy base, especially indoors and in smaller rooms. This effect is less noticeable in larger rooms or outside. I find that the unit sounds better in larger rooms and expanses where the sound stage can really open up. Sound is very good for a small unit, but obviously a unit this small has its limitations and will not bring true audiophile sound. We have audiophile level equipment in the rest of the house, but this unit is portable, convenient, and we are very happy with the sound it produces....especially at a price point <$300. But no, it is not as good as a set of KEF reference series speakers driven by a McIntosh amp. We have a large deck, and this unit is perfect for that use. Have listened mostly to classic rock so far and the unit has performed flawlessly. Plenty of volume for outdoor use for our application. Battery life has been very good to this point, but I have not yet stretched the time to see how long we can listen. So far we have listened for as long as 3 hours of uninterrupted use at moderately high volumes and there seemed to be plenty of battery life left. I would recommend this unit to a friend. My son was impressed and is considering getting one for his college apartment.

Looks beautiful. Sounds like mud.
By Esteban on Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2017
A beautiful looking speaker. The bluetooth connection is a bit slow and spotty with Apple devices. Sometimes the connection required going through the whole discovery procedure all over again. Making sure whatever app one is planning to stream from is closed or at least not playing during the attempted connection seemed to help. The sound is very disappointing. Yes, it can get very loud. Yes, it can fill a room, but it fills the room with what I believe molasses or mud sound like. The bass is so overpowering that one must lower all low band EQ settings on your accessing device to the lowest level they can go to be able to produce acceptable sound. The fact that right out of the box, the $30 Photive Creative I have in the bathroom sounds light years better than a speaker produced by one of the greatest names in speakers has come as a shock. When the low bands are set to the lowest level, say via iTunes, the sound becomes stunningly clear and balanced. However, it requires so much effort, it makes the speaker a hassle. A hassle that is just not worth $250. If streaming via an iphone, I would recommend on downloading a music player that offers a multiband eq option or else your ears will quickly be filled with mud.
