Great product for this price range

Greatly improved sound over the cruddy speakers on the TV. The sound easily fills a large living room. For the price this is a good purchase. I'm sure that a true audiophile would find flaws, but you have to spend some real money for perfection. This was easy to install and plays well with all of the components connected to the TV.I connected the soundbar to TV's Optical Audio Out and disabled the TV internal speakers. This way when changing INPUT on the TV, the sound bar automatically plays what is showing on the TV.I was able to program the DirecTV remote to control volume through this soundbar. There are two step for this:1. Program AV1 or AV2 to this soundbar following the steps in the DirecTV MENU -> Settings -> Remote Control. Once you can control the soundbar with the selector on AV1, you can lock the Volume Control to this input by following the next steps2. Override the "TV" volume control by locking Volume to AV1 (or AV2) a. Slide the MODE switch to the AV1, (or AV2) position b. Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT keys until the green light under the selected switch flashes twice andrelease both keys. c. Using the number keys, enter 9-9-3. (The green light flashes twice.) d. Press and release the SELECT key. (The green light flashes twice.)(complete instructions here: [...])

Fairly decent sound system for the price.
By Ricky C. on Reviewed in the United States on December 11, 2016
I made the purchase under Prime day back in July 2016. I had problems right off the bat. I was getting horrible feedback from the unit and was unable to get the Bluetooth connection to pair up. Once I connected it to my TV, I tested it under several conditions including cable TV stations, DVDs, Netflix, YouTube and streaming music....under every circumstance, I would get this horrible feedback from the unit from lower and higher sound frequencies. So I checked the Vizio support site to research the issues, It required me to register the unit first. When I provided the serial number of the unit it was already registered under a different person's name. The unit original purchase date was 9 months prior to me receiving it. It was obvious to me, Amazon sold a return item with a damaged sound system. I called Amazon Customer Service which they offered a refund or a replacement unit. I choose to try another unit. This replacement unit appeared to be new. I registered it just fine with Vizio. It was real easy to hook up to my 50" Samsung SmartTV. The instructions were easy to understand. I used the digital optical cable, which made it real simple to connect to my TV.. Configuring and adjusting the unit's sound settings was straight forward to do. There aren't too many settings to configure, pretty basic to make adjustments to treble and base, I retested the unit, like the previous one, it had a decent sound under each scenarios. The factory power save setting was enabled by default, which was really irritating. If you paused a movie or something, the unit would power off. I could only disabled it from the unit, the remote buttons would not disable the power save. Pairing up Bluetooth worked just fine and it stays connected. I could play music directly from my phone, which had a nice sound. The DTS Surround sound was decent. Overall this unit's sound was a vast improvement over the TVs built-in sound system. For the price I paid for it, I am convinced it was a really great deal...
