The quality of the image is definitely better than previous LG LED projectors I've had
By Julian Gutierrez on Reviewed in the United States on July 23, 2018
I must say this projector has surpassed my expectations for it. The quality of the image is definitely better than previous LG LED projectors I've had. The size, the weight, the carry case you can buy separately, all make for a perfect blend of good quality image and portability. I use projectors as I find them extremely easy to carry around if you move a lot. Considering I'm moving to another country soon, I've found that transporting a small projector can be much easier than a large TV. That being said, there are certain trade-offs from ultra short throw (UST) projectors that people should consider when buying. Something that could be improved for this LG projector is Web OS. I've found that other interfaces such as Roku are easier and faster to use. In my case, UST projectors are the ideal scenario as my room is large enough to have a big screen but is somewhat limited on where I can put a regular projector (and mounting on the ceiling is not an option). I've been using the LG PB63U LED Projector, but I have to place it in a some what uncomfortable place to have a good projection and the image quality is not the best either. One additional problem I've encountered with regular projectors is cable handling. I've had to resort to wireless (chromecast) casting to avoid the hassle of running cables across the room. For instance, when I want to play video games with the projector with my computer, I have to run the HDMI cable through the middle of the room which isn't ideal. Same goes for audio. UST projectors definitely fix this issue as everything can sit close together and the cables are no longer a problem. There are three main inconveniences I can think off regarding UST projectors. First, as you probably have observed already, they are usually more expensive than regular projectors. Second, dust is a minor problem as it is easier for them to accumulate dust near the mirror and you want the mirror to be as clean as possible always (covering it up with a cloth should do the trick). Third, given the high angle they are capable of projecting too, they tend to show small defects on the screen you are using. For example, if you are projecting directly into a wall with minor defects, these will become more noticeable when using UST. As an example, I projected into a wall that had a hole filled with paste and was barely noticeable to the eye, but when projecting to it, the upper boundary of the projection was slightly bent downwards due to this defect. The same can be said for pull down screen. Usually these types of screens (at least the cheaper ones like the one I have) tend to bend a little in the sides after some time. This bending will affect the image displayed by UST while its not a real problem for regular projectors. If you plan on buying a UST projector, make sure that the screen you are using is suitable for UST projectors (for example, permanent screens are a much better option than pull downs). Hopefully this helps people who are deciding on what type of projectors they want to buy, but don't get me wrong, this projector is great!

I loved this projector when I received it
By RB on Reviewed in the United States on March 25, 2017
I loved this projector when I received it. Unfortunately, It stopped working very next day of use. I was told to send it to LG for a repair.I was in no mood of getting it repaired as it was just a second day of the use. I would rather have it replaced. since that option was not available, I went for returning the product and get refunded I am assuming this was an exceptional case. Even though with such bad experience, I am leaning towards this product and may give it one more shot. I merely used this projector for 4-5 hrs. To be frank, it was wonderful time with the projector. I thought, I should write a review to help someone else looking for this projector.I am writing this with the assumption that the issue I had, was just a bad luck. Design : 5 out of 5 (Nice sleek design, light weight. portable.) Sound: 4 out of 5 (Really good sound. You don't need external speakers.) Throwing distance : 5 out of 5 undoubtedly , this is one of best feature of this projector offers to its user. can create a 100" screen with 15 cm distance from the wall. Nice image : 4 out of 5 ( Nice sharp 1080p image. If you are planning to set it up in the dark room or with the little ambient light, this works the best) Connectivity : 2.5 out of 5. (I had hard time getting my laptop/smartphone connected to the projector. I figured out that it needs 5Ghz router. I didn't get much time to figure out the perfect setup). WEB OS 3.0 : 3.5 out of 5. (I felt the OS was bit slow in loading the content, once they are loaded it works fine.) I hope this will help somebody who is planning to buy this projector. wish you good luck.
