It's okay but I wanted it to but it does not do with the master volume and remote
By Thomas E Soundmaster on Reviewed in the United States on December 17, 2022
Well it's okay for now I bought this preamp to improve my 5.1 surround sound systems and the reason why I say systems I got two connected together to be used as one so you might as well say it's a 10.2 surround sound system the preamp would be a good addition because I thought that the remote control that comes with it controls the master volume it does not it only controls the SD card and the USB oh and FM radio it changes the mode for the channels so if you need to use Bluetooth or the FM radio but it does not control the master volume which is what I needed it for but it does do something that I kind of like it records with the SD card on all the channels so whatever I hook up to I can record it so that's a good feature the quality of this unit is kind of low but it stands out pretty good it works pretty good it records pretty good and my surround sound system sounds pretty good along with the EQ so every little piece is needed to have the same work but if they do make a new one of these please make it where the remote control controls the base the mid-range the trouble and the master volume too but all in all this little unit will do for now it has made my surround sound system a little better so I'm going to make do with it and it does look good I kind of like it now. Update! I have been playing the 10.2 surround sound custom system for over a month now. Now I'm using my phone with Bluetooth I'm very impressed what this preamp is doing for the system now I'm playing some days other than movie night I am using the Bluetooth built into the preamp receiver with my phone the remote control of the preamp controls the tracks from my playlist on my phone and the volume was the remote on the preamp I can change track or play the track again with the preamp remote control the sound quality is very good the Bluetooth Channel does not go through the EQ that I have hooked up that is a different Channel but the sound quality is really great it is sounding better than I thought I have been tuning it up more and more each time I use it but now the Bluetooth with my phone has really impressed me the remote control that comes with it is a plus I can set the phone down and don't have to go back to the phone to change the tracks or pause it. And even works good on YouTube or whatever I'm listening to I listen to Mixcloud and I have my mixes on Mixcloud that's a website for DJs and music lovers and I am able to control the play button on that website with the remote control to the preamp that is definitely a plus impressive you can't get no better than that that is something different has changed the game for me and this friend I like it more and more so certain things that it didn't do when I first got it this now the features has changed the way I feel about this preamp it has made this system very customized I love it now more than I did I'm glad I gave it a chance I'm glad that I studied with it a little bit more then when I first got it it's working great and I hope it keeps working it's a great little upgrade to this system go out and get one and try for yourself you may like it just as much as I'm starting to like it it has really impressed me now! Update one thing I don't like about it again is that the monitor for the tape decks do not work I tested it and I'm an old school person I wanted to hook up my tape deck to it when I looked it up it doesn't work but I have another way of hooking it up I can connect it up to auxiliary one or using the 3.5 Jack in the front for input one and I also has an input in the back and for recording on the tape I can use the master output jacks on the back they got two outputs and RCA and one output and XLR right and left for each so there is a way to hook it up and use it but that's a feature they need to remove if they're not going to use it or fix it but all in all it has now grown and rank so it is a good little unit I done had this preamp for over 2 months now and I'm liking it more and more so if you don't mind some of the features that it doesn't do well I didn't get it it seems to do the job and get the job done I will buy it again.

Exactly what you pay for
By JOSE O. MANCINI on Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2023
Let's start by saying that this preamplifier may fit right for some audio projects, it does not sound bad but cannot call it PRO. I have a setup in my audio shop at home that allows me to test the audio gear I have, for that reason there is a wall mount with an amplifier I built myself. It used to have a professional rack mount DRAKE tuner (1 RU) and an OSD preamplifier (1 1/2 RUs). In order to reduce the Rack Units usage I decided to give this PYLE preamp a try. The first annoyance came with the FM section. You need to put the selector (Right knob) in the USB/SD/FM position and then push the mode button until you find the FM Tuner, not the default source. This unit comes with an antenna connector that is hardly used in FM tuners, even DENON receivers have a slight different version of the same connector. Since I use an external FM antenna, the coax (F connector) did not match the one that PYLE offers so I had to build a very inefficient adapter with a balun and a very old connector I had. This product comes with an "antenna" in the box that is basically a short wire with a plastic end. Not really usable to achieve proper SNR. There is no intuitive way to manual tune you have to push the little play button under the SD Card slot and the tuner starts to scan, looking for stations. The extra annoying thing I experience is that the scan method starts to add station channels to anything (literally anything) that seems to be a signal. After the first scan was completed I ended having 27 memory channels with most of them a fainted signal stored, some of them only interference from adjacent stations. Was not able to find an easy way to erase them. Since this unit does not include a signal strength meter I cannot tell how strong is its reception or which would be the threshold that they designated to store a signal in the memory. I will check if there is a way to erase and reset what was stored, the manual does not mention anything related to the tuner functionality. When you turn off the unit from the FM tuner, at the moment you turn it on again you have to use the mode button again until you get into the tuner since MP3 is the default. The first time I went through this the unit started to scan for stations itself, again. Did not go through this step the rest of the times I repeated the steps. The manual is limited, only explain what are the controls and connectors used for but does not get into the detail of programming the tuner, etc. Regarding technical specifications, it does not mention (at all) anything related to the tuner section, tone controls or any typical data that is relevant to a preamplifier. The only useful information is that the USB and SD Card slots are limited to 32Gb. As I said at the beginning, this product may fit some needs. The construction seems to be on the edge of the cheap side, but for the price you pay is not bad.
