Peak Design Everyday Backpack

Buy with caution. And please watch the video if you are considering this bag. I love it for its size and functions. But I hate it because it has some major flaws. So lets dive in. I wanted a Bigger 30L bag for those long days where I have to carry more equip and my 18L bag just wont cut it. So I read reviews, watched videos and checked what all of you had to say. And while the bag is not cheap, I pulled the trigger and said ok, i need to see what all the hype is about. To start, lets go over what i love. I love the color scheme of the gray, and the outside material isnt bad. Its a rougher type material. The pocket design is great, and the storage inside isnt bad. It def takes some getting use to instead of the traditional dividers. It has all the straps youd need and it def distributes the weight fairly even. I also like the straps pivoting on their system. It does help for those long days so the bag moves with out. The laptop storage is nice, and the latching system is a great touch to be able to expand the bag for anything I need really. However, here in lies the problem. The middle section does not open. So what you see is what you get to access. The dividers are also problematic and this is what made my lens crash out. If you watch the video, I show you how it happens. But basically if you open the bag in a sling fashion and have the opening facing sidways, there is nothing holding in your lenses, they roll out as if they are sitting on a table with no support. So i end up forcing myself to open the bag upright or never at all. Secondly the straps themselves are extremely hard material. And when Im lugging around a heavy bag all day, eventually that digs into my shoulders and the pain begins. I wont lie, for a $300 bag im a bit disappointing that they fell short on something that is this important. The pros do outweight the cons IMO, so I am going to keep this and use it for my heavy day bag, but unlike the name. This is definitely NOT my everyday bag. Its become that specialty bag with very nice features. So watch the videos, do some homework and think about it before you buy. If you dont necessarily NEED the 30L size, you may want to look elsewhere. 18L pound for pound I would check out the OneGO. I have this also and LOVE this bag for day to day.
