Love it!

This is my first Roku product. I got frustrated with my Chromecast not casting Amazon prime, plus the quality looked bad on my TV. I bought the refurbished 3600 streaming stick because for one, as frustrated as I was with my Chromecast, it's all I ever knew of streaming devices. Second, I wanted to stay as close to my $35 Chromecast just Incase I wasn't happy with the Roku stick. The Roku stick arrived early, which was a bonus, and surprisingly more simple to set up than my Chromecast. I like the remote, actually...I LOVE the remote. It's nice to be able to use my phone, but for my 7 year old who is not allowed on our smartphones, finding TV shows with the Chromecast was difficult. (We only stream TV, we cut the cord over a year ago). My 7 year old easily can navigate through the home screen, and search using the remote. But she also found out (something she taught me and dad) she can cast her YouTube videos on the TV via the cast button as well. I also love the quality of video. My Chromecast claimwdbto cast at 1080p, but it was always bad, colors were off even, and with the fastest available cable internet available in my rural area (the middle speed out of 3 choices. It's 15,30, or 50mpg's or something, im not sure the lingo for speed) our Chromecast constantly buffered and crashed. A month before buying the Roku I lowered my internet connection to the slowest speed available because of money. The Roku stick, on with the lowest cable internet package available, and with 3 smartphones, a Dell desktop running Windows 10, and a nabi dream tab ALL connected to my wifi, streams beautiful picture quality with no buffering. My TV is worth watching again! I can access content not available on my Chromecast (Amazon prime for example) and again, i can't stress how much I love the home screen and remote. My husband is also very happy with the product, to the degree we will be buying another one cause our Chromecast is laying in a dresser drawer, and we move the roku stick from the living room to the bedroom TV. And in the end, my awesome refurbished streaming stick cost LESS than the Chromecast, and was shipped to my mailbox. After taxes, the 18mile drive one way to Walmart to buy the Chromecast, and 18miles back, the $5 dollars more for the refurbished stick was way less in the end. And I don't know if this is a good thing or not, haha, but we enjoy watching TV again! (Maybe too much since I'm getting less sleep catching up on shows on Amazon I haven't been able to watch!!!) Thanks for this wonderful product!

St Louis) has a pretty good Roku app
By Craig on Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2017
If I could give negative stars, I would. I purchased this item to replace a cable box, as my cable company, Spectrum (Charter, St Louis) has a pretty good Roku app. I already have a TCL/Roku 4k/UHD Smart TV, and am extremely pleased with the Roku software and service. I already knew that this device could replace a standard cable box serving another TV, in another room (no DVR). So after doing a little homework, and seeing that the remote included with all Roku Streaming Sticks and Streaming Sticks+ was the "Enhanced Remote," which had the capability to control power and volume to the TV, I knew I couldn't go wrong! The item was received very quickly (within 2 days, Prime). The compact box was in an oversized padded envelope that my postal carrier was able to shove into my mailbox. No damage to the inner, unprinted box (this was supposed to be a refurbished unit, so I was not expecting a retail box). Setup was easy, and logging into my existing Roku account from the streaming stick automatically loaded all of the streaming apps that I already had on my RokuTV onto the Steaming Stick (as the device is connected to a TV used by my children, I unlinked the device from my current Roku account, and created a new account for this device, thereby allowing me to have different apps oon both devices - No HBO, Showtime, or other potentially risqué channels). As the Streaming Stick, itself, was working fine, I ran my old cable box up to the cable company. While the Steaming Stick worked great, it was at this time that I learned that I did not have the enhanced remote. The packaging material, specifically the instructions for pairing, and seeing up the remote, clearly indicated that it was supposed to be the "Enhanced Remote." So, I contacted the vendor, MallStop, who merely stated that the device didn't include the "Enhanced Remote." I replied to them, and advised them that the included documentation indicated otherwise, and that Roku's support pages indicate that all Roku Streaming Sticks and Streaming Sticks+ sold since 2017 include the Enhanced Remote. Their reply was simply that the device I purchased was manufactured in 2016, that had no "Enhanced Remotes," and if I didn't like it, I could return it to Amazon, as they fulfilled the order. Sure, I _could_ return it, but now that I got rid of the cable box, that TV could no longer be used to watch TV. I sent them a photo of the documentation specifying the inclusion of the "Enhanced Remote," as well as the box, which shows it was manufactured in June of this year (2017). I realize that one can buy a replacement standard Roku remote for $2.99, but enhanced remotes sell for $24.99 - $34.99, on eBay. Hmmm... I wonder... Nah...
