Perfect for our needs
By VirgoanDiva on Reviewed in the United States on November 26, 2016
Perfect for our needs. We mostly use this in our garage especially when cooking out. This thing got a workout this week when staying with family for the holidays. We have been using it non-stop streaming live TV from our slingbox to our Roku, via the Android app, which I placed in the enclosed compartment. Picture quality is excellent. We did not have room for our speaker tower so we had to rely on the internal speaker. It did not disappoint. It was more than enough for family entertainment. It will get plenty of use in our household.

Good Tool for Presentations
By JK8 on Reviewed in the United States on July 3, 2016
This is basically a very fancified overhead projector. You know in the old days, you could have slides prepared on a color laserjet printer and then just use an overhead projector to project the slide onto a screen or a blank wall in a conference room, and then you could write on the slides what you wanted to call attention to. However, of course, there was no sound so the presenter had to talk about what the attendees were seeing and point out the important points. The ViewSonic projector has the capability to just project a movie onto a screen and the details and points to be seen can be right in the movie so that the presenter can just sit back and answer questions. It takes a lot of work out of the process of informative meetings. All the work can be done on the computer and this simplifies the conference. This type of machine replaces the overhead projectors of old. You can project anything that is on your computer or laptop screen, from text to movies, via a multitude of convenient connections. The color and detail are excellent. However, I would be very cautious and would warn not to use it as a replacement for a large screen tv, because the bulb gets extremely hot. There is even a separate warning light for an overheating of the bulb. The owner's manually actually and surprisingly tells you not to leave the machine alone and in case of malfunction due to heat to be immediately ready to rip out the electric cord either from the machine or from the outlet. I think this is quite worrisome and points to a fire hazard. I would not leave this machine on for an extended period of time as most people would leave their tv sets on. It would be fine to project a single movie to a large screen or wall. The bulb also seems to be very expensive and I do not know what its life expectancy is but I would suspect it's not very long. The machine has a nice button-based utility to correct for distortions from projections at an angle. The remote control is basic, it includes a laser pointer which is a bit light and narrow. The laser pointer from my "cat exerciser" would do a better job. One odd thing is that in all the accompanying material, the highest version of Windows that is mentioned is Windows XP. However I used it on Windows 8.1 and it worked fine. I don't know how it would work with Windows 10. The operating system of your computer should actually have little impact on the projector, except for the interface with the remote control. I rated the machine down 2 stars because of the extreme heat of the bulb.
