Fantastically Convenient!
By Rad Deco on Reviewed in the United States on November 26, 2018
This component is much more than just a BluRay/DVD player, it's access to vast options for your entertainment system! With its built-in apps and WiFi, I can simply and instantly connect wirelessly (tether) to my cell phone (with an unlimited data plan) to access free video and audio services such as YouTube, I Heart Radio and others, as well as inexpensive subscription services such as Amazon Prime and Netflix, giving me an extreme variety of entertainment options at a much less total cost than cable. The DVD and BluRay performance is excellent and picture quality is great, as expected for each type, with the added bonus of improved picture quality of DVDs with the upscaling feature. I find that I use the built-in apps much more than simply playing video discs, watching current (and often live) news, documentaries, app-specific "TV" series and movies, and listening to pristine quality, commercial-free music as well as regular radio stations from across the country, in an extensive variety of genres when puttering around the house and not glued to the screen. This single entertainment component can replace your radio and your expensive cable bill, not to mention your movie rental fees, although you can also conveniently rent or even buy newer movies through the included apps if you choose. Like the smart cellphone did for the landline telephone, this BluRay player greatly expands the horizons of your audio/visual entertainment system so much that you'll wonder how you ever did without it! The only drawback I have found with this machine is the potential of enjoying it way too much!

Problem piece
By Lance Mowery on Reviewed in the United States on April 22, 2017
The first problem I noticed was that this box does not come with an HDMI cable and a separate one needed to be purchased. Upon further investigation, I found that there are some models that come with the cable while others do not. After cable purchase and installation, set up and internet connection was relatively easy and user friendly; though mine is connected through Ethernet cable and not WiFi. Applications such as YouTube, Netflix, and Amazon Video were easy to find and quick to install. Dvd/Blu Ray player worked great, apps worked fine. The next problem could be due to a faulty box, as I have not read all the reviews, I have no way of knowing in others are experience this same problem. After continuous usage the system shuts down. The screen will go black, the tray won't open, and the box will not shut off. The only way I have found to correct this issue is by unplugging the box for an extended period of time. I have not found any period this happens. Sometime the system works great for 6 hours of useage, and sometimes it will happen after only 2 hours. The same with unplugging it. Sometimes it will work again after 5 minutes of being unplugged, and sometimes it takes an hour before it works properly again. The only positive thing about it is that has not happened in the middle of watching something; be DVD or Netflix, the only time it happens is when trying to go from one application to the next (i.e. After watching a DVD and wanting to switch to Netflix.) Upon being plugged back in, no information is lost as usernames and passwords are not needed for Netflix or Amazon Video to work. The system seems to work fine after unplugging and re plugging in. Until it happens the next time. The HDMI cable was frustrating and makes the system more expensive (figure another $25 for a good HDMI cable), but the no response problem has turned me off completely to this system. Apps: It contains many applications, including the one that most people probably look for (Netflix, Amazon Video, you Tube) but there are many more apps this system could stand to have (HBO, CW) and doesn't. I have not tried any of the music apps.
